    Head, Strategy and New Business

    Client Overview:

    Our client offers comprehensive 360° maintenance and service solutions in the oil and gas industry. Their services include marine logistics, oilfield services, oil and gas and energy facilities integrity assessment, inspection, and non-destructive testing services, etc. Additionally, as an independent provider, they deliver innovative drone services and integrated security solutions.

     

    Position Overview:

    • Our client seeks a dynamic and experienced Head of Strategy and New Business to lead the strategic planning and business development initiatives across the organization.
    • Reporting directly to the Group Managing Director, the ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in driving business growth, managing transformation projects, and leading cross-functional teams.
    • This role requires a leader with strong analytical skills, the ability to influence stakeholders, and a commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    A. Strategy Development and Execution:

    • Coordinate, along with with key executives, the development of short- and long-term business strategies, including annual strategic plans, ensuring alignment with budgets and corporate goals.
    • Lead the regional growth and business development strategy, from opportunity identification to business case development and execution.
    • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of growth initiatives, resource allocation, and ownership of key actions.
    • Drive the execution of key growth initiatives, measuring impact through orders growth, market penetration, and margin expansion.
    • Utilize market data and analysis to inform strategic planning and actions.
    • Conduct quarterly business reviews to manage and evaluate key priorities, identifying areas of opportunity.
    • Support the development and implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policies.

    Business Development:

    • Update and implement business development policies, procedures, and strategies
    • Identify and strategize new business opportunities and drive their realization
    • Cultivate client relationships to enhance performance and improve margins.
    • Collaborate with clients to optimize contract strategies and drive revenue growth.
    • Support tender preparation and commercial evaluations.

    Management and Leadership:

    • Translate strategic goals into measurable business performance measures to provide clear direction.
    • Cultivate effective working relationships within the team and across the organization.

    Stakeholder Management:

    • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders regarding operational and strategic matters.
    • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
    • Manage relationships with partners and vendors.

     Business Transformation:

    • Design and execute strategic growth initiatives and manage a portfolio of strategic projects.
    • Lead strategy and transformation initiatives, addressing market and customer needs.
    • Provide leadership for the Transformation Programme, developing evidence-based business cases.
    • Expedite transformation opportunities, collaborating with markets to integrate innovation.
    • Drive execution and facilitate coordination between subsidiaries and functions.
    • Track and report on progress on transformation projects and strategic priorities.
    • Offer effective change management leadership and support.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in a social science-related field; an MBA or Master's in a related discipline is preferred.
    • Professional membership in the industry is required.
    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in a similar role, with at least 5 years in senior management.
    • Experience managing the strategic planning cycle for a large organization.
    • Strong cross-functional engagement and prioritization skills.
