    National Hospital Administrator

    Job Description

    • The National Hospital Administrator will oversee the operations of the various specialty hospitals in the group, ensuring their efficient and optimal functioning as business entities.
    • Additionally, the administrator will plan, control, organize, and lead operations for these hospitals.
    • The suitable candidate will manage the budget and personnel to promote smooth operations.
    • The ideal candidate must be well-versed in the fundamentals of health care delivery and have extensive experience in hospital administration in both the public and private sectors.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the specialty hospitals, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Physically and remotely collaborate with the medical directors, general operations managers, etc. to provide training and support to staff in the managed hospital.
    • Champion the annual registration of the hospitals and ensure registration is completed within the agreed-upon timelines, and all relevant licenses are valid.
    • Assist management in planning the design, equipment purchase, workflow, and staffing of the hospitals
    • Develop and implement training strategies and initiatives aligned with good medical work ethics and global best practices.
    • Oversee the hospitals' community engagement and programs within the host communities. Design and implement an effective shift and rotation plans for all medical staff to promote work-life balance.
    • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize the hospitals' operations and enhance service delivery.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of programs and policies for patient services, quality assurance, public relations, and departmental activities.
    • Manage the hospitals' budget, including financial planning and monitoring
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies governing healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in healthcare delivery.
    • Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and other relevant forums related to healthcare administration, host communities, regulatory bodies, professional bodies, etc.
    • Conduct and administer fiscal operations, including accounting, planning budgets, authorizing expenditures, establishing rates for services, monitoring and coordinating financial reporting.
    • Prepare monthly reports to management on the overall functionality of all managed hospitals and propose recommendations for smooth operations.
    • Set KPIs and other performance criteria for each managed hospital to ensure that the hospitals operate efficiently and that the medical staff perform on set standards.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health care administration, or a related field;
    • Masters in health care or related field is an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in hospital administration with a strong background in the public and private sectors.
    • Good knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, ICD, CPT, etc.
    • Good knowledge of medical equipment and consumables
    • Excellent documentation, communication, negotiation, and IT skills; MS Word and Excel; health application software, etc.
