    NYSC Graduate Intern Copy Editor

    About the Role  

    • As an Intern Copy Editor, your primary responsibility is to review and edit written content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to established style guidelines.
    • This role involves correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax errors and refining sentence structure and overall readability.
    • You will also be involved in fact-checking, verifying sources, and collaborating with other writers to refine their work.  

    Job description  

    • The AWiMNews copy editor will be required to:  
    • Proofread AWiMNews content for errors and inconsistencies.  
    • Edit and polish existing content on AWiMNews to improve readability. 
    • Carry out research and verify the factual correctness of information, such as dates and statistics.  
    • Publish content on AWiMNews website. 
    • Document and update the AWiMNews style guide. 
    • The incumbent will be expected to fulfil other associated duties as required within the scope of the position. 

    Key Requirements and Qualification   

    • Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation. 
    • A degree in English language, mass communication or a related discipline.   
    • Proficiency in relevant software tools such as Microsoft Office Word and Excel.  
    • Communication skills with the ability to work with minimal supervision.  
    • Knowledge of women-related issues.
