Plant / Equipment and Logistics Officer at EST Master Construction Limited

Job Summary

• The Plant, Equipment and Logistics Officer will provide maintenance, electric, and hydraulic engineering services and support develop logistics along with support plans, budget requirement and deployment time lines for new operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Participate in preventive maintenance program for plant equipment, machinery and related facilities; identify equipment maintenance needs; record mechanical equipment readings; ensure accuracy of records kept.
• Perform routine mechanical, electrical, welding, or machining maintenance activities on equipment including lubrication, inspection, and replacement parts; order and maintain stock levels of lubricants used in plant equipment
• Maintain records of plant function readings and equipment history; maintain preventative maintenance records and schedules.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, update and repair malfunctioning plant equipment; maintain, repair and overhaul plant equipment.
• Maintain efficient records on operations and activities; maintain plant safety records; maintain and record equipment movement to project sites, prepare a variety of reports on data.
• Ensure and adhere to safe work practices and procedures including, but not limited to lockout/tagout and confined space rules and regulations.
• Ensure that all company heavy duty and other equipment are in good working condition at all times.
• Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance work on plant and equipment; maintain records of maintenance work done on equipment; disconnect equipment prior to removal.
• Performs corrective maintenance on plant equipment and process systems such as parts replacement and equipment changes.
• Maintains, repairs parts and supply inventory.
• Maintains tools, vehicles, equipment and work areas in a clean, safe condition.
• Make recommendations with supporting information that evaluates the cost-effectiveness of repair versus replacement.
• Conduct safety inspections on assigned vehicles, plant equipment and facilities
• Develop logistics along with support plans, budget requirements and deployment timelines for new operations.
• Develop logistical plans for current operations and logistics contingency plans.
• Develop and execute tools and methodologies to enable effective implementation of logistic plans.
• Design and develop standard operating methods to manage logistics operations efficiently.
• Coordinate and present logistics support to ongoing operations.
• Develop reports on material and personnel movements and various operational logistics problems.
• Provide logistics support in the areas of inventory, surveying, and projecting; ordering and pre-staging equipment for deployment.
• Responsible for procurement planning, transportation, and storage, as well as overseeing the organization, planning, and maintenance of the fleet.

Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Sc / HND in Engineering or relevant field. Possession of a Masters’ degree will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in the building construction industry.
• Great communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and pay adequate attention to details.
• Maintain high level of confidentiality.
• Must be a team player with effective negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in the use of MS-office tools i.e. Excel, Word and Power-point.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision, proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback.
