    Research and Learning Consultant (Immunization Project)

    Project Summary:

     The Immunization Project aims to increase immunization coverage and equity, improve vaccine delivery systems, and strengthen immunization policies and strategies.

    Job Summary:

    The Research and Learning Consultant will support the design, implementation, and evaluation of research and learning activities under the Immunization Project. The role involves conducting research, synthesizing evidence, facilitating knowledge exchange, and contributing to learning agendas to inform project strategies and interventions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    •  Design and implement research studies and evaluations to generate evidence on immunization-related issues, including vaccine coverage, access, acceptability, and equity, in collaboration with project partners and stakeholders.
    •  Develop research protocols, data collection tools, and analysis plans, and ensure adherence to ethical guidelines and standards throughout the research process.
    •  Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate research methodologies and statistical analysis techniques, and prepare reports, presentations, and publications to disseminate research findings.
    •  Facilitate learning events, workshops, and webinars to share research findings and promote knowledge exchange among project stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare providers, community organizations, and other partners.
    •  Contribute to the development and implementation of project learning agendas, including identifying research priorities, knowledge gaps, and learning questions to inform project strategies and interventions.
    •  Collaborate with project teams to integrate research evidence into program design, planning, and implementation, and provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to project staff and partners.
    •  Engage with key stakeholders, including policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and communities, to foster partnerships and collaborations that support the translation and uptake of research evidence into practice and policy.
    •  Support project monitoring and evaluation efforts, including developing indicators, data collection tools, and reporting mechanisms to track project progress and outcomes
    •  Contribute to grant writing, fundraising, and proposal development efforts to secure funding for research projects and initiatives.
    •  Mentor and supervise junior research staff, interns, and consultants involved in research and learning activities, providing guidance, support, and feedback as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Master's degree or PhD in public health, epidemiology, health sciences, social sciences, or a related field.
    • Demonstrated expertise in research design, implementation, and analysis, with a focus on immunization, vaccine-preventable diseases, or related health issues.
    • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, including experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R) and qualitative analysis software (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti).
    • Experience designing and conducting mixed-methods research studies, including protocol development, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
    • Knowledge of research ethics principles and guidelines, and experience obtaining ethics approvals for research projects.
    • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas and findings effectively to diverse audiences through written reports, presentations, and publications.
    • Proven ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and settings.
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
    • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in other languages is desirable.
    • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
