    Secondary Market Associate

    Job summary

    • The role holder is responsible for discovering and pursuing new sales prospects, negotiating deals and maintaining customer satisfaction for all Exchange related products.
    • He/ She is also responsible for generating leads and meeting sales goals through client prospecting and sales presentations. In order to be successful in this role, you will have to demonstrate sales competence, as well as have a deep interest and understanding of the capital markets and the investment landscape both domestic and foreign.

    Duties/Responsibilities General

    • Achieve sales and business targets, including client acquisition and AUM building, by promoting the company’s investment products to High Net worth Individuals (HNIs)
    • Stay abreast of competitive and market landscape to optimize client acquisition strategy.
    • Actively seeking out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking and physical meetups.
    • Setting up meetings with potential clients and listening to their wants and concerns.
    • Developing marketing materials and participating in client presentations.
    • Responsible for product selling and business development.
    • Serve as relationship manager to clients.
    • Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections.
    • Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teams.
    • Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences.
    • Building relationships across external Funds Management and Portfolio Management teams to communicate and relay sales and market intelligence.
    • Create periodic reviews and reports with sales data to optimize sales strategy.

    Sales

    • Participate in all capital raise activities on the Exchange.
    • Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective investors (fund managers, PFAs, Insurance companies, corporates) for investing on the Exchange.
    • Participate in preparation of marketing related materials, including sales teaser, term sheets, marketing educational materials for issuers and investors engagement.
    • Onboarding of capital market operators as members of the Exchange.
    • Ensure the availability of products on the Exchange through coordination with internal product development team.
    • Ensure Capital Market Operators are equipped with the relevant technology and resources to ensure seamless execution of transactions on the Exchange.
    • Develop market reports for dissemination to capital market operators.
    • Work with Capital Market Operators to build the appetite of their customers for commodity linked instruments.

    Trainings

    • Develop relevant training materials on the commodities market for dissemination to market participants.
    • Coordinating and conducting training on trends in the commodities market to clients and market actors.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders in the commodities ecosystem to create awareness through educational presentations.
    • Conduct webinars and other for a for engaging stakeholders on the commodities market.

    Other duties

    • Participate in ad-hoc projects and perform other activities as may be assigned.
    • Embark on trips within and outside Nigeria where necessary.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related fields.
    • Advanced understanding of investment products and strategies including mutual funds, ETF’s and alternative investments.
    • A proven track record of sales success.
    • Strong sales, decision making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
    • Awareness of industry trends, technology, and developments.
    • Established relationships within the investment community.
    • Superior presentation and interpersonal skills.
    • Active listening and verbal and written communication skills.
    • 3 – 5 years of sales experience within the capital market or related sector.
