    Sponsorship Sales and Business Development Lead

    Job Summary

    As the Sponsorship, Sales, and Business Development Lead, the ideal candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, establishing strategic partnerships, and contributing to the overall expansion of the programs and initiatives of the organization. This multifaceted role involves selling of services, securing sponsorships, and identifying business development opportunities

    Key responsibilities:

    Sponsorship Strategy & Activation

    • The ideal person should have experience driving and closing event sponsorships. Events are a big part of our work. We also run entrepreneurial fellowships.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive sponsorship strategy aligned with the company's mission and target audience.
    • Identify and research potential sponsors whose values and goals resonate with the mission of the business.
    • Craft compelling sponsorship packages that showcase the unique value proposition for the company.
    • Secure high-impact sponsorships through proactive outreach and persuasive negotiations.
    • Deliver exceptional service to sponsors, ensuring mutual benefit and fostering lasting partnerships.
    • Activate sponsorships through creative campaigns and initiatives that maximize their visibility and engagement.

    Sales & Client Acquisition

    • Identify and generate sales leads for innovative programs and offerings.
    • Develop and deliver impactful sales presentations tailored to diverse business needs.
    • Negotiate and close sales deals, exceeding revenue targets and driving growth.
    • Provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with clients.

    Business Development & Partnerships

    • Identify and analyze new market opportunities for the company's expansion.
    • Develop and implement strategies to forge strategic partnerships with key players in the tech industry.
    • Negotiate and secure partnerships that contribute to the company's growth and resource acquisition.
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation.

    Market Analysis and Expansion

    • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and opportunities for growth in the tech sector.
    • Explore and evaluate new markets, both locally and internationally, for potential expansion.

    Financial Goal Achievement

    • Set and achieve revenue targets for sponsorship, sales, and business development activities.
    • Work closely with the finance team to ensure alignment with budgetary goals and financial objectives.

    Customer Relationship Management

    • Implement and maintain a customer relationship management (CRM) system to track interactions and manage relationships with sponsors, clients, and partners.
    • Provide excellent customer service to sponsors, clients, and prospective students.

    Metrics and Reporting

    • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sponsorship, sales, and business development.
    • Provide regular reports to leadership on performance metrics and the status of strategic partnerships.

    Qualifications and skills:

    • First degree in any field.
    • A Master’s degree and/or Professional Certification would be an added advantage.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of  experience in sales, business development with great relationship-building skills
    • Existing relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in relevant industries and organizations.
    • Demonstrated capacity for managing end to end sales process 
    • Previous experience selling training and coaching services 
    • Experience with selling workshops and knowledge sessions 
    • Relevant experience with driving and closing event sponsorships.
    • Experience with fundraising and development of sponsorship and funders’ networks 
    • Experience with use of CRM platforms for managing sales and business development pipelines
    • Proven track record of successfully generating revenue and securing partnerships.
    • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
    • Strategic thinking and analytical skills to identify and capitalize on opportunities
