    Marketer (Lagos)

    Job Summary

    • Responsible for supporting the development and management of potential and existing business relationships with suppliers (brokers) or buyers (direct clients) to ensure the provision of excellent insurance products and services that add value to the customer.

    Job Details

    Business Development

    • Provide support to the Team Lead and Head – Marketing in the development, implementation and monitoring of the unit’s strategy and programmes to cover direct clients in various industry segments, and Brokers in different geographical areas.
    • Review requests (e.g. concessions, policy terms & conditions, policy premiums etc) from Brokers and Clients and escalate as appropriate to Team Lead and/or Head – Marketing with recommendations for appropriate actions to be taken.
    • Develop business plan for the unit on a quarterly basis and submit same to Team Lead / Head – Marketing.
    • Provide Team Lead with daily, and periodic reports on activities, and make recommendations on correcting noted deviations from plan.
    • Draft business proposals to Clients and review same with Team Lead / Head – Marketing.
    • Analyze industry segments and geographical areas to identify potential business opportunities either through customer acquisition or product development.

    Client Relationship Management

    • Ensure Clients receive effective service delivery, by promptly responding to their requests and enquiries, and service delivery to Clients, and where necessary liaising with other units across the organization to ensure that open issues are resolved as quickly as possible.
    • Resolve queries on all exceptional transactions of the sections in the unit
    • Review premium rates, policy terms and conditions to meet client`s needs
    • Ensure reports on daily activities are submitted to the Head of Marketing/Branch Manager at the end of each working day
    • Maintain good public relations with current and prospective customers
    • Embark on client calls with staff to monitor marketing quality and to market the company`s services, discuss various proposals with customers and provide sound insurance advisory services

    Other Duties

    • Support in the preparation of the Unit’s budget.
    • Any other responsibility as assigned by the Head, Marketing.

    Requirements

    Knowledge/ Qualification

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

    Experience 

    • 5 – 9 years of relevant experience.

    • Responsible for developing, implementing, and executing strategic marketing plans for the targeted business segment. The ideal candidate should be able to lead, generate, and manage new Life businesses for the firm to drive growth and profitability and provide excellent customer service in the North.

    Job Details

    Marketing

    • Plan, develop, and implement marketing strategies to improve the company’s market share in the target market.
    • Drive and acquire new strategic partnership with  brokers
    • Manage and coordinate marketing activities and lead market research efforts
    • Generate new strategic channels/direct businesses
    • Customize insurance policies to suit retail and corporate clients.
    • Conduct marketing calls with Branch Marketers to clients and brokers
    • Seek advice from the Executive Director, Sales & Strategy on client's request for any concessions on policy
    • Ensure that all company's products are competitive from a pricing and coverage standpoint and ensure that products are in compliance with all insurance laws, NAICOM regulations, and company strategic plans
    • Perform Bancassurance responsibilities in line with NAICOM regulations
    • Increase insurance sales and penetration in the corporate customers pool
    • Liaise with Agency Managers in the Northern Region to maintain customer relationships
    • Support the development of marketing to bring in quality business from all sectors particularly from industry leaders
    • Provide direction and guidance to Bancassurance Officers in the North

    Branch/Technical Operations

    • Drive growth and profitability of the business through achievement of production and premium collection targets
    • Set and monitor performance indicators for the various branches to ensure that profitability and service delivery targets exceed expectations
    • Establish and monitor implementation of short to long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
    • Conduct business review meetings with Branch Marketers
    • Ensure records are maintained in accordance with best practice
    • Resolves queries on all exceptional transactions
    • Constantly monitor and interpret work guides and references to ensure that branch operations comply with requirements of relevant statutory and regulatory authorities
    • Coordinate and present the unit's Monthly Production Report (MPR) at the Monthly Performance Review meetings
    • Coordinate all the Bancassurance activities in the Northern region
    • Liaise with the partner banks and other parties as well as the regulator in respect of the Northern region Bancassurance activities
    • Remain updated with all regulator's new and existing guidelines

    People Management

    • Effective prioritization and management of staff resources, mentoring, and insight to colleagues in support of varied business segments
    • Conduct formal appraisal of subordinates' performance
    • Trains, mentors and develops staff

    Others

    • Any other task as may be assigned by the Head, Marketing

    Requirements

    Knowledge/ Qualification

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.

    Experience 

    • Minimum of  7 years relevant marketing experience
    • Insurance sales experience will be an added advantage

    • Excellent knowledge of the marketing techniques and regulations guiding financial institutions especially Insurance Industry.
    • Excellent leadership, management and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong at executing business plans and innovation.
    • Strong written and oralcommunication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
    • Proactive, Resourceful and hands-on with good initiative.
