    Assistant Facilities Supervisor

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The candidate shall be required to help provide and maintain facilities that give Church missionaries where they work, worship, teach, learn pray together, make, and renew covenants, and receive sacred ordinances. Will be a primary customer contact person for all physical facilities matters relating to existing facilities and properties. This position will also assist in the prevention of building deterioration and maximize building life through judicious application of operations and maintenance processes and standards.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepare and implement operations and maintenance annual plan.
    • Scope building renovation projects with the assistance of the Project Manager.
    • Regularly inspect facilities to ensure compliance with approved standards.
    • Manages resources including staff, contractors, and vendors to execute the annual plan.
    • Secures Contractors and vendors and ensures that work and services meet established specifications.
    • Communicate frequently with customers, employees, vendors, and contractors to develop and maintain effective relationships.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, Construction management, business, or a related field, 
    • 3-5 years experience in facilities management, and property management or related industry.
    • 3 or more years in a leadership role leading others.
    • Must be proficient in the use of MS Office Applications and be able to use other computer-specific software, web-based programs, internet services, and wireless communications.
    • Knowledge of facility and property management, construction procedures, business practices, safety, and fire codes.
    • Exposure to front-line management skills in a multi-discipline work environment.
    • Ability to communicate professionally with employees, priesthood leaders, contractors, and vendors.
    • Two to five years of driving experience with a good driving record and safety-minded
    • Possess a valid Driver's license with Basic knowledge of auto mechanics.

    Handyman

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Located in Ibadan, the candidate shall work closely with the Facilities Manager and priesthood leaders to perform minor electrical fixtures, plumbing, carpentry, painting, landscaping, and deep cleaning. The incumbent in this position maintains a log of purchased, supplied, and used supplies. The candidate must know and perform the FM group work order process. He /She may assist in contractor supervision and reporting skill level and ability. The successful candidate shall undertake basic upkeep and light repair tasks and fix broken appliances/equipment; maintenance to interior and exterior of assigned area including painting, carpentry, grounds, and new equipment/furniture installation. This position will also assist in the prevention of building deterioration and maximize building life through judicious application of operations and maintenance processes and standards.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs minor painting, roof repair, minor plumbing, generator maintenance, tile, lawn, tree, bush sprinkler repair and lawn mower maintenance, and electrical and electronics assistance - Supports member care including supplies, training, and equipment care.
    • Performs custodial duties to keep the meetinghouse and grounds clean and orderly as well as work planning, demonstrates purchasing skills, project monitoring, inspection methods and standards, reporting work, and workplace safety. 
    • Repairs locks, hinges, tile work, and wall coverings, small paint jobs, motors, engines, and ground care equipment.
    • Responsible for safety during work, including the reporting of hazards, both inside and outside the building, to the Facilities Manager
    • Attends meetings when assigned by the Facilities Manager and attends training sessions to upgrade technical skills.
    • Secures Contractors and vendors and ensures that work and services meet established specifications.
    • Performs other duties as assigned. 

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • CTC II or HND in Building Construction/Electricals or related qualification.
    • Three years of working experience in Facilities maintenance – Electricals, Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting, Deep Cleaning etc.
    • Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate tactfully with priesthood leaders, vendors, and employees.
    • Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and crawl, bend, stoop, squat, and reach overhead to perform maintenance functions.
    • Seasoned ability to operate equipment, tools, etc., both manual and automatic, to make repairs.
    • Must be familiar with and able to safely use industrial cleaning chemicals and products.
    • Be able to safely move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
    • Must be proficient in the use of Computers.  Must understand and be able to use MS Office Applications, specific software’s, web-based programs, internet services and wireless communications.

    Mission Home Attendant - Part-Time

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    This position works under the direction of the Facility Supervisor with coordination from the Mission President or the Mission President's wife to assist with the operation of the mission home. Duties vary but typically include assistance with maintaining property cleanliness, preparing meals, and assisting with childcare and laundry. Efficient and timely completion of assigned duties.

    The home attendant must follow the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving objects/materials and/or the cleanup of infectious materials in accordance with procedures and regulations.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Housekeeping: 

    • Cleans mission home following missionary transfers, meetings, or as directed. Duties typically include cleaning kitchens, floors, restrooms, changing linen, dusting, waste removal, etc.

    Cooking:

    • May assist in preparation of meals under the direction of the mission president's wife, including meals for visitors, and special meetings.

    Child Care Assistance: 

    • May assist with childcare as requested by the mission president and/or mission president's wife.

    Laundry: 

    • Assist with laundry. Other duties assigned by the mission president and/or mission president's wife.

    Completely use safety precautions in all housekeeping services.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3-5 years of proven experience in housekeeping, cooking, and laundry.
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
    • Customer-oriented and friendly.
    • Prioritization and time management.
    • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
