    Deputy Programme Director / Technical Director

    Job Profile: 

    The Deputy Programme Director/Technical Director will provide strategic guidance and technical expertise to drive the success of the USAID-funded Community Health project. Collaborating closely with the Programme Director and project team, you will oversee the development and execution of technical strategies, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives. Your leadership will be instrumental in delivering innovative solutions, monitoring progress, and maximizing the impact of our interventions.

    Job Role:  

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following functions: 

     

    • Lead the development and implementation of technical strategies, work plans, and performance monitoring frameworks in collaboration with project stakeholders.
    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality technical assistance, training, and capacity-building activities to project partners and stakeholders.
    •  
    • Drive innovation and continuous learning by facilitating knowledge sharing, best practices dissemination, and adaptive management approaches.
    • Foster strong partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, community leaders, and other key stakeholders to promote collaboration and sustainability.
    • Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical support to project staff, promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, and teamwork.

    Qualifications/Experience: 

    • An undergraduate degree in medicine 
    • Advanced degree in public health, medicine, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing and implementing complex health projects, preferably in low-resource settings.
    • Proven track record of technical leadership, strategic planning, and project management.
    • Extensive knowledge of USAID rules and regulations, as well as experience working on USAID-funded projects.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in multicultural teams and navigate complex stakeholder environments.

    Director of Strategic Information - Usaid Funded Strengthening Quality of Care Through Primary Health Care Activity & Community Health (Anticipatory Recruitment)

    Job Profile: 

    The Director of Strategic Information (DSI) will play a pivotal role in ensuring data-driven decision-making and programmatic excellence for the USAID-funded Strengthening Quality of Care through Primary Health Care Activity in Nigeria. Working closely with the project leadership team, you will lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of strategic information systems and processes to optimize project performance and impact.

    Job Role:

    • Lead the design, development, and implementation of strategic information systems, including data collection tools, databases, and dashboards, to support program monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
    • Oversee the integration and harmonization of data systems and processes across project components to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability.
    • Establish and maintain robust data management processes and standards to ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Conduct data analysis and interpretation to generate actionable insights and recommendations for programmatic improvement and decision-making.
    • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks, indicators, and tools to track project progress, outcomes, and impact.
    • Lead the design and execution of evaluations, assessments, and special studies to assess project effectiveness and identify lessons learned.

    • Proven track record of successfully designing, implementing, and managing strategic information systems in complex international development projects.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
    • Proficiency in data analysis software and tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, Stata, R) and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) preferred.

    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in managing complex international development projects, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
    • Proven track record of successful project management, including financial management, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership.
    • Experience working on USAID-funded projects and strong familiarity with USAID rules and regulations.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
    • Prior success in overseeing comparable or larger donor-funded initiatives is preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to take bold initiative, exhibit an entrepreneurial mindset, and excel in problem-solving.
    • Experience in effectively managing multiple projects within Africa and closely collaborating with governmental entities to achieve results will be advantageous.

    Director of Finance and Operations – Usaid Funded Community Health Project (Anticipatory Recruitment)

    Job Profile: 

    • The Finance and Operations Director will be a strategic-minded leader with a passion for financial management and operations in the context of USAID-funded projects. 

    Roles and responsibilities.

    • Oversee all financial aspects of the project, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance with donor regulations.
    • Oversee adherence to USAID compliance systems, including supply chain, procurement, and financial management. Ensuring that project stay abreast of USAID regulations, communicating changes to staff and partners and ensuring global compliance standards are met.
    • Manage sub-awards and grants to local partners, ensuring proper financial controls, reporting, and compliance with donor requirements.
    • Manage procurement processes, contracts, and vendor relationships in compliance with project and donor policies.
    • Provide leadership and oversight for administrative functions, including HR management, office operations, and compliance with local laws and regulations.
    • Identify financial and operational risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and ensure internal controls are in place to safeguard project assets and resources.

    Qualifications/Experience:

    • Advanced degree in grants management, accounting, business administration, public health, or related field. Additional post-graduate certifications (ICAN, ACCA, etc.) and having a background in fast-paced, performance-driven organizations a must.
    • 15 years of experience managing risks and compliance for large donor portfolios, preferably USAID. Prior experience as Director of Finance and Operations/Admin on a USAID project an added advantage.
    • Experience in overseeing USAID acquisition or assistance awards and managing local and consortium partners.
    • Senior management-level experience, including contracts oversight, budget management, and finance operations.
    • Familiarity with finance management tools and ERPs, supply chain, HR, and vehicle management systems.
    • Strong organizational, strategic thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment, influencing and leading teams to success.
