    Administrative / Account Officer

    Job Summary

    • The Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN) is an industry association of renewable energy professionals dedicated to promoting the growth and development of the sector in Nigeria.
    • We are seeking an Admin/Accountant to join our team and contribute to the administrative and financial management and analysis of REAN and its members.
    • The role involves providing financial insights, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

    Job Responsibilities

    Administrative Duties:

    • Define overall operational plan for the management of the day-to-day Admin related responsibilities.
    • Provides administrative support to the REAN Executives and other team members.
    • Prepares REAN secretariat activity reports and presentations as needed
    • Schedules appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements for Exco members and REAN staff.
    • Manage issuance of outstanding member dues are to be issued quarterly.
    • Prepare monthly office running cost analysis.
    • Ensure that REAN is up to date with all periodic statutory, regulatory and compliance related issues. (Tax, PENCOM, ITF, NSITF, Audit etc)
    • Maintain database for preferred suppliers, consultants and other service providers.

    Membership Management:

    • Serves as the primary point of contact for existing and potential members.
    • Addresses member concerns and feedback to enhance satisfaction.
    • Prepares and maintains financial records of REAN members.
    • Generates receipts/invoices and reminders for non paid- up members and updates records upon renewal.
    • Manage member registration process, invoice, receipt and certificate issuance, post registration follow -up.

    Grant Management:

    • Assist in the management of grants received by REAN, including financial reporting and compliance.
    • Work closely with the REAN team to ensure proper financial tracking and reporting of grant funds.
    • Support the preparation of grant proposals and budgets for funding opportunities.
    • Manages financial aspects of grants and funding received by the association.
    • Implements cost-saving measures where possible.
    • Preparation of funds request documents/invoices to donor partner

    Financial Analysis:

    • Perform financial due diligence and analysis on prospective projects for
    • REAN and its members and recommend an investment decision
    • Preparation of financial documents for presentation to potential and current funding organizations.
    • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and financing opportunities in the RE sector.
    • Prepare financial reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management.
    • Ensures timely and accurate payment of REAN staff salaries and stipends.
    • Collects and processes financial supporting documents for project payments, per diems, and reimbursements.

    Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts for REAN and its projects.
    • Monitor budget performance and provide prompt reports to management and funding organizations.
    • Collaborate with the REAN team and stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely budget allocation and expenditure.

    Monitoring and reporting:

    • Prepares quarterly and annual reports of REAN membership and partnership activities to the REAN management and EXCO.
    • Generates and maintains project financial reports.
    • Provides quarterly financial reports to funding partners and REAN management.
    • Maintains up-to-date financial records (dues and payments) of the association.
    • Monitors and controls expenses to align with the approved budgets.

    Other Duties:

    • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Secretary.

    Job Specifications

    The ideal candidate should possess:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Administration, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA) will be an added advantage.
    • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques.
    • Experience in personnel, budgeting, research or administrative management.
    • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel).
    • Knowledge of the renewable energy sector will be beneficial.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
