    Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) Teacher

    Job Description

    • We seek a highly qualified and passionate Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) teacher to join our team.
    • The ideal candidate will have a strong educational background, teaching experience, and a deep understanding of the Christian/Catholic faith.
    • The successful candidate will teach CRK to students in a junior or senior high school setting, create engaging lesson plans, and foster a positive learning environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that cover the core tenets, teachings, and practices of Christianity, using varied instructional methods and resources.
    • Facilitate discussions, debates, and reflective activities to encourage students to analyze, interpret, and apply biblical and theological concepts to their personal and social lives.
    • Assess students' progress and provide regular feedback to help them improve their understanding, critical thinking, and communication skills.
    • Maintain detailed records of student performance, attendance, and any disciplinary issues.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Christian theology, biblical scholarship, and religious education.
    • Contribute to the overall spiritual and ethical development of the school community, including organizing and leading chapel services, retreats, and other faith-based activities.

    Skills:

    • In-depth knowledge of the Bible, Christian theology, church history, and philosophical perspectives on religion.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students and facilitate informed discussions.
    • Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities to help students understand and evaluate complex religious and ethical issues.
    • Creativity and problem-solving skills to develop innovative lesson plans and activities.
    • Proficiency in using relevant religious texts, educational resources, and technology to enhance the learning experience.
    • Patience and adaptability to cater to the diverse learning needs and faith backgrounds of students.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field.
    • Teaching certification.
    • 2-3 years of experience teaching Christian Religious Knowledge or a related subject at the secondary level.
    • Demonstrated success in creating and implementing effective lesson plans and assessments.

    Other Requirements:

    • Passion for teaching and a strong personal commitment to the Christian faith and its ethical principles.
    • Ability to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages respectful dialogue and critical analysis.
    • Willingness to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in Christian theology and religious education.
    • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively with other faculty members.
    • Commitment to the school's mission and values.
