    Co-Facilitator- Domestication of the SNG-SRMH Self-Care

    JSI is seeking the services of a consultant to support the Kaduna State Ministry of Health in facilitating the domesticating the SNG-SRMH to meet the state’s specific SRMH needs.  This will be conducted with the aim of having a tailored solutions to addressing the SNG SRMH needs of the state in line with the range of self-care interventions covered by the National Self-Care Guideline for SRMH.

    The ideal consultant for this activity will have a good knowledge and understanding of the NSG-SRMH and the WHO guidelines. She/he should have the knowledge of the context and realities of related policy and service delivery environment of Kaduna state, particularly as it relates to self-care in sexual, reproductive, and maternal health programs in Nigeria. In addition, the consultant must have proven experience in facilitating stakeholders’ interactions to review and adapt the NSG-SRMH to meet the needs of Kaduna state. She/he must have experience working stakeholders across relevant ministries, agencies, donors, and other organizations.

    Goal: To Facilitate the domestication of the NSG-SRMG guideline for Kaduna state, Nigeria by working with identified stakeholders in developing the Kaduna State guidelines.

    Objectives:

    1. Work with multi-level stakeholders in Kaduna state public and private sectors to review and identify specific sections and areas of the NSG-SRMH interventions to be adapted for Kaduna state
    2. Gain stakeholders understanding of the specific SRMH needs of Kaduna state and use the outcome to develop tailored SC interventions solutions.  
    3. Facilitate the development of a Kaduna state SRMH SC intervention guidelines, working with stakeholders
    4. Use participatory approach to developed Kaduna State SRMH SC intervention implementation plan
    5. Work with multi-level stakeholders in Kaduna state public and private sectors to review and adapt the monitoring and evaluation matrix by identifying indicators to be tracked for    NSG-SRMH interventions in Kaduna state

    Specific tasks and responsibilities:

    As the Kaduna-based consultant working with the Lead consultant and in close collaboration with the Director/Head Reproductive Health Division, Family Health Department, Kaduna State Ministry of Health and any other officer/person so designated by the Director, carry out the following tasks and responsibilities:

    1. Work with the Kaduna State RMNCAH+N Manager to identify key stakeholders to participate in the domestication of the SNG-SRMH for Kaduna state.
    2. Prepare logistics with the Kaduna State RMNCAH+N Manager for the workshop by inviting participants for the workshop.
    3. Identify and collate all necessary documents to facilitate the domestication exercise for Kaduna state.
    4. Conduct literature review using the documents identified.
    5. Develop agenda for the meeting by working with the Lead consultant
    6. Co-facilitate with the Lead consultant the review of the NSG-SRMH guideline with identified stakeholders and contextualize the sections to meet the SRMH-SC needs of Kaduna state
    7. Co-facilitate with the Lead consultant discussion sessions to assess specific SC SRMH needs of Kaduna state using Participatory Learning and Action approach during the meeting and develop tailored solution for Kaduna state
    8. Collate and consolidate stakeholders’ comments, contributions, suggestions and use these to develop Kaduna State SRMH guideline
    9. Conduct validation meeting with selected officials of Kaduna state Ministry of Health to finalize the guideline
    10. Facilitate the development of Kaduna State implementation plan for scale-up of self-care interventions 

         Key Deliverables

    1. Final Kaduna State SC SRHM interventions guideline (To be submitted by 30th August 2024)
    2. Final implementation plan for Kaduna State SC SRHM interventions guideline (To be submitted by 30th August 2024)
    3. Summary of specific SRMH and SC needs identified by stakeholders (To be submitted by 23rd August 2024)
    4. Group discussion guides and documented summary of discussions (23rd August 2024)

    Timeline

    1. This activity is expected to take approximately 15 days in the Month of August 2024 with the following timeframe:
    2. Phase 1: Identify and invite key stakeholders to the domestication workshop working with the Kaduna state RMNCAH+N Coordinator = 3
    3. Phase 2: Review of literature and coordinate logistics for participation with the Kaduna state Ministry of Health- Number of days = 3 
    4. Phase 2: Co-facilitate with the Lead consultant workshop to domesticate the National NSG-SRMH interventions guideline for Kaduna state- Number of days = 4
    5. Phase 4: Review draft guidelines and implementation plan and submit final guidelines to Lead consultants -Number of days = 3
    6. Phase 5: Validate the guideline with stakeholder- Number of days = 2
