    Content and Curriculum Officer

    ADPN BACKGROUND

Funded by the Danida Market Development Partnerships (DMDP), the ADPN aims to improve the livelihoods of smallholder fish farmers while ensuring sustainable fish production within an enhanced aquatic environment. The project will build the capacity of fish farmers in aquaculture Best Management Practices (BMP), modern fish farming techniques for improved output while reducing pollution along the value chain. Additionally, the ADPN consortium will adopt the green initiative to provide solutions to the traditional problems in aquaculture i.e. GHG emissions associated with aquaculture practices, high water consumption, wastewater discharge, and high energy consumption. The solution to these specific challenges is therefore to develop and demonstrate a water purification technology to increase sustainable fish production and at the same time reduce environmental impact, reduce energy consumption through the use of solar energy to replace diesel generators, and to recycle nutrients. A multiplier effect will be achieved with the ADPN online platform which will contain three (3) key features; e-learning, e-commerce, and farm management software.

The ADPN consortium; Solidaridad, Aller Aqua, TASCE (Tai Solarin College of Education), IDIPR (Ijebu Development Initiative on Poverty Reduction), AQUAMIND, and OXYGUARD, focus on the three pillars of sustainability; Economic, Environment and Social.
