    Director of Student Affairs

    Overall Function

    • As the Director of Student Affairs at MIVA University, you will play a vital role in leading and managing the Student Affairs department.
    • This position requires a dynamic and experienced individual with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of student services, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive campus environment.
    • The Director will collaborate with faculty, staff, and stakeholders to enhance the overall student experience and promote student success.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement a clear vision and strategic plan for the Student Affairs Department in alignment with the university's overall goals and objectives.
    • Provide strong leadership to student affairs staff, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and student-centeredness.
    • Oversee the provision of effective student support services, including academic advising, counseling, career services, disability support, and student conduct.
    • Develop and implement programs and initiatives to enhance students' personal, social, and academic development.
    • Ensure that appropriate resources and services are available to address the diverse needs of students, fostering inclusivity and accessibility.
    • Promote a vibrant and engaging campus life by organizing and supporting a wide range of extracurricular activities, clubs, and student organizations.
    • Foster a sense of community and belonging among students through orientation programs, student leadership development, and student recognition initiatives.
    • Serve as an advocate for students' interests and concerns, ensuring that their voices are heard and considered in university decision-making processes.
    • Implement effective mechanisms for handling student grievances, ensuring prompt and fair resolution in accordance with established policies and procedures.
    • Represent the student affairs department in university-wide committees, meetings, and events, advocating for the needs and interests of students.
    • Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in student affairs, incorporating innovative approaches and strategies.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • A Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field (a Doctoral Degree is desirable).
    • Proven experience in student affairs leadership, preferably in a higher education setting.
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of student development theories, student support services, and current issues in higher education.
    • Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, faculty, and external stakeholders.
    • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse campus environment that values and supports students from all backgrounds.
    • Knowledge of relevant legal and ethical guidelines in student affairs.
    • Familiarity with technology-enhanced student services and student information systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build partnerships with various stakeholders.
    • Awareness of accreditation standards and regulatory requirements in higher education.

    Remuneration
    N1,000,000 - N1,500,000 Net Monthly, with benefits.
