    Driver

    Responsibilities

    • Drive for the Delegation’s staff and visitors as per assignment in a safe and law-abiding manner to ensure passenger safety and vehicle longevity;
    • Clean, maintain, and repair the vehicles placed under his/her responsibility;
    • Control the level of fuel, engine oil, radiator water, brake fluid, power steering fluid, etc.;
    • Tackle the car registration formalities;
    • Update the car documents, notably the vehicle logbook;
    • Deliver the messages, mail, diplomatic pouch, etc.
    • Assist in the customs clearance procedures when requested;
    • Through knowledge of driving and mechanics;
    • Familiarity with the location of major buildings (Embassies, Ministries, International Organisations, etc.);
    • Sense of initiative, organization, responsibility, punctuality, and discretion;
    • Capability to execute tasks in a timely and efficient manner, even when working under pressure and while respecting the driving laws;
    • Good physical condition (a yearly medical check-up is obligatory);
    • Knowledge of IT tools – Microsoft Office
    • Self-motivated, and proactive, ability to work in a multicultural environment, both in a team and/or alone, respect for deadlines, ability to deal with stressful situations and to work under tight deadlines, and performing well under pressure;
    • Communicate clearly and courteously, both with internal and external contacts;
    • Work in a multicultural team, showing good interpersonal skills;
    • Any other task assigned by the Head of Administration.

    Requirements

    • Medically fit to perform the required duties;
    • Enjoys civil rights and permits for employment under the Nigerian labor law;
    • Satisfactory knowledge of  English
    • Lower secondary education in a relevant field and a minimum of 3 years in performing driver’s related tasks. Thorough knowledge of secretarial tasks.

    The following will be considered an asset:

    • A diploma in mechanics would be an asset;
    • A diploma of defense driving
    • An armored vehicle driving certificate 
    • Previous experience in a Diplomatic Mission
    • Working-level knowledge of the French language

    • N456,720 monthly.
