    Engineering Manager, Platforms Services

    Job Summary & Purpose:

    • We are currently sourcing for an Engineering Manager, to join our team and lead the Platform Services Team of our Organisation.
    • The responsibilities of this role entail that as the Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of our platform services, ensuring their reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
    • You will lead a team of skilled engineers and work closely with cross-functional teams to drive technical excellence, foster innovation, and deliver high-quality platform solutions that meet our business needs.

    Responsibilities

    • Business Intelligence Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive business intelligence strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. Collaborate with executive leadership to understand business requirements and align BI initiatives to support data-driven decision-making.
    • Data Management and Analysis: Oversee the collection, integration, and validation of data from various sources, ensuring data quality and accuracy. Conduct in-depth data analysis to extract meaningful insights, patterns, and trends, and present findings to senior management and department heads.
    • BI Tool Implementation: Evaluate and select appropriate Business automation tools and technologies to support data visualization, reporting, and analytics needs. Lead the implementation, configuration, and optimization of Business automation tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in data-driven decision-making.
    • Team Leadership: Manage a team of Business automation analysts and data professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages continuous learning and skill development.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with departments across the organization to identify BI needs, understand business processes, and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and the BI team.
    • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards and reports to monitor the organization's performance against targets. Regularly review performance metrics with leadership to identify areas of improvement and potential risks.
    • Data Security and Compliance: Ensure that data handling and storage practices adhere to industry best practices and regulatory requirements, including data privacy and security.
    • BI Training and Education: Conduct training sessions and workshops to increase BI awareness and data literacy among employees, empowering them to leverage data in their daily operations.
    • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Business automation tools and analytics. Propose and implement process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance BI capabilities.

    Education / Professional Qualification
    Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
    • At least 8-10 years of proven work experience specifically in consulting, manufacturing, food, and beverage industry.
    • Proven experience (typically 10 years) in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
    • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in platform development and services architecture.

    Key Skills & Competencies:

    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or similar.
    • Familiarity with cloud-based technologies, microservices, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Experience in building and scaling large-scale distributed systems.
    • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, agile practices, and DevOps principles.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision-making.
    • Knowledge of security best practices and data protection standards.
    • Previous experience in the development of platform services for SaaS applications is a plus.
    • Proficiency with technologies related to Kubernetes, containerization and infrastructure such as Docker, Helm, Kustomize, Terraform, Pulumi, etc.
    • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, JS, and Go.
    • Familiarity with DevOps best practices and CI/CD tools.
    • Proof of hands-on installation and commissioning experience in electrical and industrial process automation.
    • Project management knowledge relative to scope, time, quality, and cost.
    • Instrumentation, calibration, and component selection.
    • Pro-active, attention to detail and solution-oriented
    • Excellent communication skills – Report writing skills is essential
    • Energetic, independent, and self-driven
    • Time management skills.
    • Good knowledge of electrical panel design, wiring, and components identification.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team
    • Ability to deliver quality service always
    • Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving abilities

    • Willing to travel locally and internationally.
