    Finance Manager

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS

    • Collecting, interpreting, and reviewing financial information
    • Reporting to management and stakeholders, and providing advice how the company and future business decisions might be impacted
    • Producing financial reports related to budgets, accounts payables, accounts receivables, expenses etc.
    • Advising on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take
    • Develop trends and projections for the school’s finances
    • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
    • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives and design framework for these to be met
    • Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of school’s finances is maintained
    • Correspond with various other departments, discussing school’s plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken
    • Monitor the day to day financial operations within the schools, such as payroll, invoicing and other
    • Oversee financial department employees, including financial assistants and accountants
    • Contract outside services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary
    • Track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
    • Seek out methods for minimizing financial risk to the company
    • Review financial data and prepare monthly and annual reports
    • Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legation

    KEY SKILLS

    • Ability to synthesize large quantities of complex data actionable information
    • Excellent business judgment, analytical and decision-making skills
    • Knowledge of financial reporting and data mining tools such as SQL, Access etc.
    • Strong demonstrated use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Ability to work and effectively communicate with senior level business partners
    • Strong financial system and business administration understanding

    QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting related subject from a reputable institution or any related discipline
    • Profession certification in ICAN, ACCA, CPA
    • MSc or MBA or professional certificates in Finance or any related discipline will be an added advantage.
    • 5-8 years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis
