    Finance Officer

    We are seeking a meticulous and highly organized Finance Officer to join our team at CEER. The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity of the organization and supporting the efficient allocation of resources in line with our mission.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Financial Management:

      • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management.
      • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
      • Assist in the development of budgets for new projects and monitor expenditure against approved budgets.
    • Financial Reporting:

      • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including donors and regulatory bodies.
      • Reconcile bank statements, manage financial data entry, and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
      • Collaborate with the Finance Manager to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Compliance and Audit:

      • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, organizational policies, and donor requirements.
      • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit queries.
      • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in financial regulations and advise the organization accordingly.
    • Grant Management:

      • Monitor and report on the financial performance of grants, ensuring proper allocation and use of funds.
      • Prepare financial reports for donors, ensuring accuracy and adherence to donor guidelines.
      • Work closely with program teams to ensure that grant funds are utilized effectively and in line with approved budgets.
    • Capacity Building:

      • Provide training and support to staff on financial policies, procedures, and best practices.
      • Assist in the development and implementation of financial systems and procedures to improve efficiency and control.
    • Collaboration and Support:

      • Work closely with program managers and other departments to provide financial insights that support decision-making.
      • Assist with the preparation of financial documentation for board meetings and other strategic discussions.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or ACCA certification preferred).
    • Minimum of [3] years of experience in financial management, preferably within the non-profit or humanitarian sector.
    • Strong understanding of financial regulations, budgeting, and financial reporting.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
    • Experience with grant management and donor compliance.
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
