    Front Desk Officer

    Job description

    • Welcoming patients and visitors;
    • Answering physical, telephone and email inquiries;
    • Generating patient cards and files both on the HMIS and on paper;
    • Scheduling patient appointments;
    • Coordinating and facilitating patient flow in the hospital;
    • Assisting patients with completing necessary forms and documentation;
    • Keeping a clean and calm reception area;
    • Processing billing and payments;
    • Liaising with HMOs;
    • Handling document management and control;
    • Comforting distressed patients – this may range from simply fixing any appointment issues that may arise, through to being the voice of comfort during times of extreme stress and emergency;
    • Monitoring and ordering stationery and cleaning supplies;
    • Booking and organising staff and doctor meetings;
    • Maintaining information confidentiality at all times;
    • Providing and generating relevant reports;
    • Ensuring that the front office is always well stocked with the necessary stationaries and consumables;
    • Liaising with all the medical departments with professionalism and discretion.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum Bsc;
    • Minimum 2 year’s experience in a similar role preferably in a multi-specialty hospital;
    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, ability to use an HMIS is a plus;
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills;
    • Excellent organizational and people management skills;
    • Highly motivated team player willing to go the extra mile.
