    Gender Based Violence (GBV) / MHPSS Officer

    Description

    • Lead and manage the team and its partners towards the efficient and effective delivery of agreed outputs, outcomes and impacts ensuring full donor satisfaction for the GCD/CBM-TDZ project.
    • The GBV/MHPSS Officer will be responsible for implementing and managing gender-based violence prevention and response activities within the project.
    • The GBV/MHPSS officer will work closely with GBV Caseworkers to provide support to survivors, communities, and stakeholders across project locations.

    Responsibilities
    Project Management:

    • Implementation of the activities according to the logical framework: counselling, identifying GBV cases, creating links with similar organizations and partners working on MHPSS, training, IEC tools etc.
    • Assess SGBV needs, their personal situation and, strengths in order to develop plans to improve their well-being.
    • Determines the state of well-being of the SGBV situation by interviewing the client; assessing psychological, emotional, and social information; and making on-site visits.
    • Coaches and supervises peer educators in their community-based activities (lay counselling &support group sessions) at project sites in coordination with Community workers.
    • Supports the GREENCODE/CBM psychosocial activities e.g. individual counselling, group counselling sessions or support groups for special needs e.g. PLHIV or GBV survivors, risk reduction s
    • Organizes, facilitates and conduct specific trainings on GBV issues/MHPSS for Caseworkers according to their needs.
    • Maintains records of cases by documenting the beneficiaries' situation and own actions, adhering to data protection regulations.
    • Monitors planned actions through regular follow-up.
    • Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing interrelated results as needed.
    • Follows up with beneficiaries to ensure that their situations and well-being have progressed.
    • Submission of monthly report

    Partnership Development:

    • Maintain and strengthen partnerships with implementing partners.
    • Support the Project Manager/National Coordinator in networking with key stakeholders working in the project districts.
    • Support the National Coordinator in building project staff capacity in program management.

    Advocacy:

    • Participate in GREENCODE profile-raising activities including the ‘International Days Celebration’.
    • Assist partners and involve them in conducting workshops and conferences.
    • Represent GREENCODE at conferences and workshops and support the PM in raising the organizational profile.

    Financial & Resource Management:

    • Work closely with the Finance & Support Services department to help prepare and monitor expenditures.
    • Ensure that project activities align with GREENCODE/donor policies.

    Requirements

    • University degree in a relevant field
    • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in the same role or related role in the humanitarian or development sector in NGO or INNGO
    • Experience in coaching, training, and facilitation
    • Demonstrated track record of proposal writing and project implementation.
    • Experience in managing teams.
    • Experience with key donor-funded and grant principles.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Report writing.
    • Problem solving.
    • Analytical.
    • Social mobilization.
    • Knowledge of database management and good command over MS Office.
    • Good understanding of working with project budgets, forecasts, and reports.
    • Good communication skills (both oral and written).
    • Proficient in both verbal and written English.

    Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse:

    • Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within GREENCODE and amongst beneficiaries served by GREENCODE.

    Compliance & Ethics:

    • Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout GREENCODE.
    • As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of GREENCODE and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.
