    General Manager (Construction Site)

    About the job

    • The General Manager (GM) for a construction site is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the construction process, from planning and budgeting to execution and completion.
    • The GM ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills to manage a multidisciplinary team and ensure the successful delivery of construction projects.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    • Ensure that all construction activities adhere to established schedules and are completed within budget.
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficient project execution.
    • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Lead, menitor, and manage on-site construction teams, including project managers, supervisors, and laborers.
    • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
    • Conduct regular meetings with the project team to review progress, address challenges, and ensure that goals are being met.
    • Prepare and manage the project budget, including cost estimation, tracking, and reporting.
    • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
    • Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving measures where necessary.
    • Ensure that all construction work meets the highest standards of quality and adheres to relevant codes and regulations.
    • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address any issues that may compromise quality or safety.
    • Implement quality assurance processes and ensure that all work is completed according to specifications.
    • identify potential risks to the project and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and safety requirements.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, standards, and best practices.
    • Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget

    Requirements:

    • 10 years of experience in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
    • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive role in construction.
    • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and project management.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and building codes.
    • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
