Grants Specialist at Welcome2Africa

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare written grant application materials to include letters of inquiry, proposal narratives, budget development, attachments, packaging, and submission.
• Prepare grant reporting, including gathering data, compiling supporting documents and attachments, confirmation of budget and narrative accuracy, and packaging.
• Work with Research Department to identify and solicit new funding opportunities and to manage ongoing funder and community relationships.
• Develop preliminary budget narratives and schematics for grant applications, adapting funded proposals as necessary during the post-award period, and ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met.
• Responds to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals

Job Requirements

• Strong conceptual thinking to create relevant advocacy materials for projects and activities with innovative elements.
• Demonstrated 3+ years’ experience working with grants and fund development.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet all grant deadlines.
• Ability to plan, anticipate requirements, problems and obstacles, juggle competing priorities successfully, and work to tight deadlines with a high degree of autonomy
