• Our ideal candidate must be skilled in digitizing and automating credit risk underwriting and processing flows in the financial services industry and must possess advanced Data Analytics and reporting skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure 100% compliance with the Bank’s Credit Policies and Procedures.
• Ensure Team CAP analyzes credit requests and identifies inherent risks with adequate responses to aid quality decision-making.
• Ensure loans sent to CAP are processed within the agreed turnaround time.
• Maintain professional working relationships with internal customers.
• Contact liaison with the Sales team to ensure conformity with credit policy.
• Ensure credit checks on all credit customers are conducted before approval.
• Ensure Monthly reporting of the performance of loan customers to the Credit Bureaus.
• Assist in product/policy development geared towards managing inherent credit risks in the Bank’s products.
• Provide weekly detailed reports on credit trackers such as the number of loans declined, loans approved and fraudulent transactions detected
• Maintain regular updates on CBN Policies and Global credit trends.
• Assist in product/policy development geared towards managing inherent credit risks in the Bank’s products
• Attend MCC Meetings

Educational Qualification

• University degree in accounting, business administration, finance, management, public administration or related field
• MSc/MBA in Risk Management
• MCP, Institute of Credit Administration (ICA) and other professional qualifications in Credit Risk Management is prerequisite.

Relevant Work Experience

• Minimum of 7-10 years cognate experience in core credit risk management, credit underwriting and processing.
• Experience in the financial services or FINTECH sector, with at least 3 years of experience at the managerial level

Skills And Competencies (Technical & Soft Skills)

• Experience and exposure in digitizing and automating credit risk underwriting and processing flows in the financial services industry.
• Excellent experience in leading a diverse team of credit risk analysts for Personal Banking and SME lending.
• Certified in Agile methodologies.
• Advanced Data Analytics and Reporting skills (SQL, Power BI, Decision science).
• Excellent Engagement and Communication Skills.
• Consummate team player with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, horizontally and vertically.
• Very open-minded and comfortable with driving change.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of Risk Management, CBN regulations, and the financial services industry
• Strong Knowledge of banking regulations and laws
• Good Analytical thinking and leadership skills
• Ability to use your initiative and pay attention to detail
• Strong ability to communicate (written and oral) effectively with internal and external stakeholders
