    Head of Partnership and Ecosystem Enablement

    JOB OVERVIEW:

    The Head of Partnership and Ecosystem Enablement leads the PVAC secretariat's efforts to foster a supportive and enabling environment for the growth and development of the Nigerian healthcare sector. This role plays a critical part in achieving the secretariat's goals by addressing regulatory hurdles, promoting innovation, and facilitating access to resources for healthcare stakeholders 

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS: 

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for enabling the Nigerian healthcare ecosystem, focusing on key areas like regulation, policy advocacy, talent development, R&D, and access to financing 
    • Lead a team of specialists responsible for addressing regulatory challenges faced by healthcare businesses and institutions in Nigeria 
    • Collaborate with regulatory bodies to advocate for policies that promote innovation, improve access to essential healthcare products and services, and create a more attractive investment climate for the healthcare sector 
    • Oversee the development and implementation of programs to support healthcare workforce development, R&D initiatives, and improved business operations within the healthcare ecosystem 
    • Foster collaboration between stakeholders across the healthcare value chain, including government agencies, healthcare providers, academia, and the private sector 
    • Identify and analyze trends, and challenges impacting the Nigerian healthcare ecosystem, proposing and documenting insights, solutions and strategies for improvement 
    • Manage the team's budget and resources effectively 

    DELIVERABLES:  

    • Comprehensive strategy documents for enabling the Nigerian healthcare ecosystem, addressing regulation, policy advocacy, talent development, R&D, and access to financing. 
    • Detailed reports on regulatory challenges and proposed solutions, including policy advocacy efforts and outcomes. 
    • Successfully developed and managed programs aimed at healthcare workforce development, R&D initiatives, and improved business operations. 
    • Regular progress reports on the implementation and impact of ecosystem enablement initiatives. 
    • Monitoring of impact of interventions to allow for course correction and replication.   

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES: 

    EDUCATION: 

    • Master's degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Pharmacy, Medicine, Healthcare Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. 

    LANGUAGE: 

    • Proficiency in English. 

    WORK EXPERIENCE: 

    • At least 4 years of experience working in the Nigerian healthcare sector, with a strong understanding of its regulatory environment, policy landscape, and key challenges. 

    REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: 

    • Proven track record of leading and managing teams, developing and implementing strategic initiatives, and advocating for policy change. 
    • Sufficient understanding of the econometrics of healthcare value chains to connect ecosystem interventions to real world outputs.   
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 
    • Ability to build and manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels. 
    • Excellent analytical, research, and presentation skills. 
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. 
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external stakeholders. 
    • Position will be externally contracted on an independent contractor basis and seconded to PVAC’s Abuja office.
