    Head Teacher - Primary School

    Job Summary:

    The Head Teacher is the senior leader of the primary school, responsible for the overall management, leadership, and direction of the school. The role requires a dynamic and experienced educator who can inspire staff, engage with parents, and ensure that all students receive a high-quality education. The Head Teacher will oversee the implementation of the curriculum, manage school operations, foster a positive school culture, and maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Leadership and Management:
      • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the school, setting high expectations for staff and students.
      • Lead the school’s senior management team in developing and implementing school policies, plans, and procedures.
      • Oversee staff recruitment, development, and performance management.
      • Ensure compliance with educational standards, policies, and regulations.
    2. Curriculum and Instruction:
      • Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of the school’s curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of all students.
      • Promote innovative teaching practices and the effective use of technology in the classroom.
      • Monitor student progress and achievement, using data to inform instructional decisions and interventions.
      • Ensure that the curriculum is inclusive, diverse, and aligned with national standards.
    3. Student Welfare and Development:
      • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students within the school environment.
      • Promote positive behavior and a culture of respect and responsibility among students.
      • Provide support for students with special educational needs and ensure that all students have access to appropriate resources and support.
    4. Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
      • Foster strong relationships with parents, guardians, and the wider community.
      • Act as the primary spokesperson for the school, effectively communicating the school’s vision, values, and achievements.
      • Engage with external partners, including educational authorities, to enhance the school’s resources and opportunities.
    5. Financial and Resource Management:
      • Oversee the school’s budget, ensuring financial resources are managed efficiently and effectively.
      • Manage the school’s facilities and resources, ensuring they are maintained to a high standard.
      • Seek out funding opportunities and manage school projects to improve facilities and learning outcomes.
    6. Continuous Improvement:
      • Lead the school in a process of continuous improvement, setting targets, monitoring progress, and driving innovation.
      • Foster a culture of professional development among staff, encouraging lifelong learning and professional growth.
      • Regularly review and evaluate school performance, implementing strategies for improvement where necessary.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field is required. A Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role within a school setting.
    • Certification: Valid teaching certification and/or administrative license as required by the local education authority.
    • Skills:
      • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
      • Proficient in data analysis and the use of educational technology.
      • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
      • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, diverse, and positive school culture.
