    Instructional Designer

    Overview

    • We’re searching for an Instructional Designer who will be responsible for providing design expertise to organize and structure content, recommending the best learning methodology to be used, and managing the project from beginning to end.
    • This will require learner-centered design using modern learning design and technologies. The role will be within the Learning Content Services unit (within Learning Solutions) and operate under the Global Learning Content Services Manager. The role is global and open to all locations.

    Responsibilities

    This role will:

    • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer along with supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role-plays, games, etc).
    • Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience’s training needs, agreeing on end-goals and creating content that matches them.
    • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process, applying tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods.
    • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface, and the finished product.
    • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts.
    • Decide on the criteria used to judge learners’ performance and develop assessment instruments.
    • Maintain project documentation and course folders.

    Qualifications
    In this role:

    • Degree or certification in Instructional Design or related field, or Education with an emphasis in Technology Education as well as 2-3 years of experience in online curriculum development.
    • Must have completed the compulsory 1-year NYSC or have an exemption certificate.
    • Professional fluency in English is essential, both written and oral, including the ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts.
    • Solid knowledge of course development software, at least one Learning Management System (LMS), as well as MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, CRMs).
    • Lesson and curriculum planning skills including visual design and storyboarding.
    • Proven working experience in instructional design, instructional technology, and project management.
    • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
