Job description

• A professional who combines the skills of interior design with the principles of architecture. Responsible for designing and creating functional and aesthetically pleasing indoor spaces by considering both the architectural and design elements. Altering the structure of a space to enhance its functionality, safety, and appearance.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Space Planning
• Design Development: Creating design concepts and developing detailed plans and 3D models.
• Material Selection: Choosing appropriate materials, finishes, and furnishings that align with the design vision and client needs.
• Technical Drawings: Producing detailed drawings and specifications for construction and installation.
• Project Management: Overseeing the implementation of the design, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring the project stays on schedule and within budget.
• Building Codes and Regulations: Ensuring that designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.

Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor's Degree
• Master's Degree (Optional): Some interior architects pursue a master's degree to specialize further or to enhance their career prospects.
• Licensing and or Certification
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience
• Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a range of projects is essential for demonstrating design skills and creativity to potential clients or employers.

Skills

• Design Skills: Strong sense of aesthetics, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and other 3D modeling tools.
