    Lead, Property Law

    Objectives

    • To carry out activities in conformance with NEPL's processes and procedures in alignment with the required legal standards and regulations.
    • To support NEPL in ensuring its interests are adequately protected in all matters pertaining to property transactions.
    • To carry out due diligence on NEPL landed properties.
    • To support and supervise in ensuring that NEPL landed properties have valid legal documentation and are free from all encumbrances.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide legal opinion on litigation and property issues to the Manager, Litigation & Property Law.
    • Advise the General Counsel on contingent liability on litigation issues.
    • Negotiate land agreements on behalf of NEPL based on directives from the Manager, Litigation and Property Law.
    • Identify and recommend solutions to identified performance gaps in direct reports.
    • Supervise direct reports in ensuring they carry out their activities adequately.
    • Ensure regular capacity development of direct reports through coaching and other learning methods.
    • Provide timely and regular reports on the activities of the Manager, Litigation and Property Law.

    Educational Qualification

    • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Law. Barrister at Law (BL) qualification is a must, also must have been called to bar.
    • Master’s in law or any other relevant post-graduation degree or professional qualification is an added advantage.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 9 years relevant post qualification experience.
    • Experience in the oil and gas industry will be an added advantage.

    Age Limit: 37 years
