    Marine Engineer

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the general services and maintenance of company boat fleets, barges and equipment.
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure all equipment and systems are regularly checked and maintained.
    • Prepare PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) schedule for all boat fleets, barges, and equipment.
    • Conduct routine inspections and tests to identify potential issues before they lead to failures and inform the facilities director on due time for maintenance and repair.
    • Develop marine equipment inventory plans and budgets and cascade to facilities director.
    • Maintain an inventory of spare parts, ensuring that critical components are in stock including usage, reordering, and inventory levels
    • Ensure all boat fleets are in compliance with safety regulations.
    • Inspect marine equipment and machinery and draw up work requests and job specifications and issue purchase requisitions for spare parts.
    • Maintenance of all boat fleets for Yamaha & Suzuki engines (Mercury engines will be an advantage).
    • Carry out any other functions as required from time to time by head of department.

    Requirements

    • University Graduate or equivalent in relevant fields of study.
    • Professional marine qualification or equivalent.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in similar role in maritime or shipping company.
    • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications or software.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Experience of participating in an audit of marine safety compliance
    • Ability to produce inventory report and communicate in a clear, concise manner.
