    Procurement Associate

    About the job

    • We are seeking a Procurement Associate to manage purchasing, maintain supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with company policies in our pharmaceutical firm.
    • The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills and a solid understanding of procurement best practices in the pharmaceutical industry.

    Responsibilities

    • Implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
    • Negotiate contracts, terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable terms.
    • Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock without over or under supply.
    • Evaluate the performance of suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
    • Raise purchase orders, organizing and confirming delivery of pharmaceutical goods and services.
    • Source and Evaluate Potential Suppliers based on Quality, Cost, and service.
    • Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and develop new supplier relationships.
    • Develop and implement cost reduction strategies while maintaining product quality and availability.

    Requirements

    • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management 
    • Interest in market dynamics along with business sense 
    • Enviable negotiation skills and relationship management skills 
    • Working experience of vendor management software 
    • Ability to gather and analyze data and work with figures 
    • Solid judgment with ability to make good decisions 
    • Strong leadership capabilities 
    • First class or a minimum of second-class degree in either Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Chemistry, Physics, Pharmacy an added advantage. 
    • 3+ years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management in the pharmaceutical, Retail & FMCG industry. 
    • Experience in the pharmaceutical sector is an added advantage.
