    Registrar

    Duties

    • The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the College and is responsible to the Provost for the general administrative work and running of the College.

    Notably, the Registrar shall:

    • Keep all records of staff and students.
    • Conduct and receive all correspondences of Council and Management.
    • In addition to other duties conferred by the Federal Colleges of Education Act, 2023, be the Secretary to Council, Management Committee, Academic Board, and any Committee of Council.
    • Perform any other function, which the Council or Provost may so direct.

    Qualifications
    Candidates for the post of the Registrar should possess the following:

    • A good honors Degree in any of the Social Sciences / Arts subjects from any recognized institution of higher learning.
    • Must possess a relevant master's degree from a recognized institution of higher learning with at least 18 years of cognate work experience. Possession of a Doctorate Degree is an added advantage.
    • Must have been a Deputy Registrar on CONTEDISS 15.
    • Evidence of continuous mandatory professional development.
    • Proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
    • Must be a member of a recognized professional body in a relevant field.
    • The successful candidate must not be above the age of fifty-nine (59) years at the time of taking up the appointment.

    Tenure

    • The appointment is for a single term of five (5) years only, beginning from the effective date of appointment.

    Salary

    • The salary and fringe benefits attached to the post are as applicable to the post of a Registrar in all Federal Colleges of Education in Nigeria and as may be determined from time to time by the Federal Government.

    Method of Application

    • Academic and professional qualifications obtained with dates
    • Membership of professional bodies and associations with valid evidence
    • Honours and distinctions
    • Conferences attended and papers presented with dates
    • Previous employer(s) and post(s) held with dates
    • Present employment to include status, salary, duties, and any other relevant experience
    • Statement of vision and mission for the College (20 copies)
    • Other activities outside current employment
    • Names and addresses of three (3) referees, one of whom must be the present employer, who are to forward confidential reports directly to the College Registrar. The referees should be able to attest to the candidate's claim to high academic and managerial capabilities, as well as to the candidate's notable uprightness.

    Note

    • Applicants shall be required to produce originals of the certificates and other relevant credentials if invited for an interview, as photocopies will not be accepted.
    • Applicants are to ensure that their referees submit confidential reports on them directly to the Registrar's Office within the specified period.
    • The application should be accompanied by a two-page statement of the candidate's mission and vision for the College Registry in the next five years.
    • Late applications will not be entertained, and only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
