    Senior Accountant

    About the job

    • We are looking for a dedicated and versatile Senior Accountant to assist on managing the Finance Functions of Dutum Company Limited.
    • This role plays a crucial part in ensuring compliance with Finance laws and regulations, as well as providing financial guidance to protect the interests of the company.
    • Experience Minimum of 5 years work experience as an accountant within the construction/real estate industry. 

    Key Duties /Responsibilities 

    • Preparation of timely and accurate management reports with analysis & recommendations.
    • Preparing and managing of taxes & contributions schedules (WHT, VAT, PAYE, Pension, ITF & more)
    • Reviewing of accountants’ expenses records & Sage software postings to ensure accuracy.
    • Reviewing of General Ledger (GL) for accurate postings and costing especially project-wise 
    • Oversees vendors accounts reconciliation with the Payable team.
    • Liaising with the Admin team to ensure up-to-date assets register.
    • Ensure financial accuracy of all banks and their reconciliations. 
    • Carry out month-end adjustments with documentable and accurate schedules. 
    • Ensures that bank charges are in line with CBN guidelines on charges & other financial circulars.
    • Accurate and detailed review of floats reports of petty cashiers to optimize financial resources . Ensures timely and proper filing of all documents by the accountants and petty cashiers. 
    • Handle the receivables section with respect to all postings & documents generation.
    • Maintain and control the overall budget to avoid overspending and reports periodically. 
    • Ensure continuous compliance with financial regulations and standards. 
    • Discharging any other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the line manager and MD.

    General Competencies 

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
    • Not less than 5 years proven experience as an accountant within the construction/real estate industry
    • ICAN certification is a MUST 
    • In-depth knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulatory frameworks.
    • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis 
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with functional teams 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to details
    • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
