    Senior Corporate Finance Analyst

    The Senior Corporate Finance Analyst is responsible for supporting the commercial director and finance teams in corporate finance related matters including financial modelling, presentations, funding, budgeting, monthly reporting and forecasting as well as other strategic corporate activity capital raising, buying and selling financial products as well as identifying and securing merger and acquisition deals. The incumbent will support a multi-functional team to ensure financial modelling is accurate, up to date and best in class. In addition, he/she will work on achieve the development of business plans, valuation of targets, negotiation, due diligence and integration. He is also responsible for preparation of the company’s annual budget the preparation and updating of the company’s Corporate Financial Model. He/she is expected to be involved in fostering relationships with shareholders, external industry analysts, strategic investors, business consultants, Government and regulators debt funders, technical and finance partners, shareholders, and other primary stakeholders. He/She will also support all corporate development finance activities geared towards maximizing bottom line for the company, help drive critical business decision making.


    Job Description


    • Manage the corporate finance department and junior corporate finance analyst
    • Support the group commercial director and group chief financial officer in key strategic initiatives
    • Own, update and maintain the corporate financial modelling and the budget model, in collaboration with the various stakeholders
    • Assess capital allocation requirements as well as sources of funding (sources and uses)
    • Monthly financial reporting as part of the board and shareholder updates
    • Perform financial forecasting and reporting
    • Support the finance team in the preparation of the company’s annual budget, and strategic capital allocation
    • Deliver business valuations for acquisitions and divestments, financial valuation and any other related strategic decision supports
    • Ensuring that the company financing decisions are consistent with the overall financing strategy, and that liability management is in line with existing covenants.
    • Monitor the company’s key financial performance indicators based on approved forecasts; and regularly manage treasury/cashflow plan across the company’s operating assets
    • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
    • Guide the cost analysis process by establishing a budget monitoring process
    • Support in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management reports 
    • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and excel dashboards.
    • Maintain a strong financial analysis foundation creating forecasts and models
    • Address advanced capital needs, profitability analysis, specific sensitivity/trending/NPV analysis, and metric related information.
    • Taking a key support role in the planning, structuring and execution of any capital raising, or M&A activity the company is contemplating or actively engaged in.
       

    Job Experience


    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Statistics or Mathematics
    • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in a corporate finance related role.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite.
    • Substantial financial modelling skills with experience in valuations and valuation metrics.
    • Must have experience in building corporate models and budgets from the scratch.
    • Detail-Oriented, understanding of software and database systems.
    • Familiarity with data query/data management tools will be extremely helpful (Access, SQL, Business Objects).
    • CFA qualification will be an added advantage.
    • Strong project management ability and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to meet key deadlines with accurate deliverables.
    • The position is located in Nairobi, Kenya.
