    Senior Legal Officer

    Description

    • As the Legal Officer, you'll be a critical partner in the company’s success.
    • You'll wear many hats, providing comprehensive legal support and ensuring compliance across all facets of the company’s operations.

    Here's what you'll do:

    Transactional Expertise:

    • Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts for:
    • Land acquisition and property sales
    • Leases for commercial and residential spaces
    • Construction agreements with contractors and consultants
    • Joint ventures and partnerships for new developments
    • Manage the closing process for all real estate transactions.

    Regulatory Compliance Pro:

    • Become an expert in Nigerian real estate law, staying current on:
    • Zoning and planning regulations
    • Environmental laws
    • Building codes
    • Property management regulations
    • Proactively identify and mitigate regulatory risks for our existing estates and new developments.
    • Ensure company adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.

    Risk Management Champion:

    • Develop a keen understanding of our development processes and identify potential legal issues
    • Implement strategies to mitigate legal risks associated with construction delays, contractor disputes, and resident relations
    • Manage and track legal claims and litigation effectivel

    Dispute Resolution Strategist:
    Provide insightful legal advice and representation in the event of disputes with:

    • Residents
    • Contractors and vendors
    • Government agencies
    • Third-party entities
    • Negotiate favourable settlements and minimize potential legal costs.

    Corporate Governance Guardian:

    • Advise on corporate governance matters pertaining to board meetings, shareholder relations, and company policies.
    • Ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures, maintaining the highest ethical standards.

    Estate Management Advisor:

    • Collaborate with the estate management team to develop and implement legal policies for resident relations, facilities management, and service provis
    • ion. Guide the team on enforcing lease agreements and addressing resident concerns effectively.

    New Development Projects Powerhouse:

    • Provide comprehensive legal support for ongoing development within existing estates.
    • Spearhead the legal aspects of acquiring land, securing permits, and managing contracts for new property developments throughout Nigeria.
    • Ensure smooth legal integration of new projects into the Periwinkle Residences portfolio.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Law
    • (LLB) Minimum 8 years of experience in real estate law, with a strong understanding of Nigerian property law and regula
    • tions. Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal docu
    • ments. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategi
    • cally. Impeccable attention to detail and acc
    • uracy. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to both technical and non-technical audi
    • ences. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced enviro
