    Senior Systems Administrator - Account Management (Grade 8)

    Function of the Team

    • Global Customer Support is responsible for providing IT and infrastructure support to corporate and project employees around the world.
    • The account administration team, which this position will be a member of, is responsible for day-to-day account administration functions including account creations, changes, terminations, and corporate backup administration.

    Function of the Position

    • The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/ configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems software and hardware and related infrastructure.
    • The SA participates in technical research and development to enable the continuing evolution of DAI’s systems infrastructure.
    • The SA works to ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values that enable DAI staff.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Lead DAI systems account management activities including account creations, changes, and deletions.
    • Assist in automating account management activities where possible.
    • Manage DAI systems account audit activities.
    • Assist in managing corporate backup infrastructure including the daily monitoring of backup systems, making recommendations on systems software, developing, and maintaining backup policies and procedures, working with system owners to ensure current backup and retention schedules, and managing relationships with external tape storage vendors.
    • Assist in managing and administering Windows server operating systems and their corresponding or associated software.
    • Participate in the design and implementation of disaster recovery plan for operating systems, databases, servers, and software applications.
    • Provide on-call technical support when required.
    • Monitor and test server software performance and provide statistics and reports as directed.
    • Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.
    • Work with security team to ensure accounts and responsible systems are in line with DAI security standards.
    • Troubleshoot problems reported by users and analyze and isolate issues.
    • Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures and associated training plans included in job description.
    • Work closely with other IT Operations team members and provide guidance to staff as needed.
    • Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary.

    Qualifications
    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Grade 8: Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional IT experience, inclusive of at least 3 years of system administration related experience, and a Bachelor's Degree.
    • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
    • Knowledge of local and wide area networks, Windows servers, personal computers, and network operating systems, including Windows Server 2016/2019, and Windows 10.
    • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Active Directory administration.
    • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft operating systems (Server) 2016 to 2019, Office 365, and Microsoft Azure.
    • Demonstrated experience with Arcserve, Barracuda or other backup technologies
    • Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
    • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
    • Self-motivated and directed with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex or technical information clearly, and tailor communication style to diverse audiences.
    • Able to build and maintain good working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization and external clients from diverse backgrounds.
    • Authorized to work in the Serbia or Nigeria. Applicants must specify their preferred work country in their application.
    • Willing and able to adjust work schedule, if needed to support teams located in different time zones/countries.
    • Equivalent education and experience will be considered.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Microsoft O365 certifications, Microsoft Azure based certifications, or other relative certifications are a plus.
    • Experience with PowerShell.
    • Experience with public DNS administration.
    • Familiarity with general IT security best practices and/or relative certifications.
    • Experience with Lotus Notes and Domino.
    • Experience with server patching & software updates.
