    Senior Tax Analyst, Tax Compliance/Reporting Direct Taxes New Energy/Businees Services

    Objectives

    • To be responsible for enforcing regulations in all aspects and levels of business as well as provide guidance on compliance matters.
    • To ensure the NNPC Limited adheres to financial reporting standards and in-house policies.
    • To preserve integrity by ensuring the Corporation maintains lawful and ethical standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Preparation of Group Tax Compliance Report (Monthly, Quarterly);
    • Provide response to queries during tax audit;
    • Interfacing with BUs to obtain inputs required for the Group Tax Compliance Report;
    • Ensure accurate tax computations and filing of returns as at when due;
    • Any other assigned task by the Lead Tax Analyst (Tax Compliance & Reporting);
    • File WHT and VAT with the appropriate Tax Authority;
    • Advice against potential tax liabilities and its implications.
    • Liaise with relevant tax authorities in areas of discrepancies between tax payable and tax paid during tax assessment;
    • Complete required tax reporting in a timely manner.
    • Monitor compliance systems to ensure their effectiveness;
    • Consult with corporate attorneys as necessary to address difficult legal compliance issues;
    • Discuss emerging compliance issues with management or employees.

    Educational Qualification

    • First Degree or its equivalent in Social Science preferably in Accounting, Economics, Banking & Finance or Insurance or related fields
    • A Master’s degree is an added advantage
    • Certification in Professional membership of any of the relevant body e.g. ACA, ACCA, ANAN, CFA, CIS, CITN, NIM

    Competence

    • Knowledge of relevant tax legislation
    • FIRS circulars
    • Commercial Orientation
    • Knowledge of Oil and Gas Industry
    • High level communication
    • IT skills

    Experience

    • Minimum of 9 years relevant post qualification experience. Experience in the oil and gas industry will be an added advantage.

    Age Limit: 37 years
