Job Description
Job Title: System AdministratorAbout Company: Our Client is a leading Technology Consulting firm that specializes in the development of custom IT solutions for the needs of all sizes of business.
The Company is seeking an experienced System Administrator who will be responsible for the configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance and networking issues. The individual will ensure that all computing operations (hardware and software) run with optimal performance and limit work disruptions within the organization.

The ideal candidate for this role must have an exceptional problem-solving skill with an in-depth understanding of information systems and computing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and upgrade computer components (hardware and software).
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network issues in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
• Set-up accounts and workstations.
• Document problems and resolutions and assess impact of issues.
• Research and recommend new approaches to improve the computer components and network.
• Manage network servers and technology tools.
• Document processes which employees need to follow in order to successfully work within the Company’s computing system.
• Monitor system performance to ensure operations runs smoothly and securely.
• Perform regular back-up operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection and disaster recovery.
• Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
• Ensure data is stored up securely and backed-up regularly.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Computer Science/ Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Network Administration, System Administration or other relevant field.
• Knowledge of system security and data backup and or recovery.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools.
• Familiarity with SQL and database operations.
• Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware and networking protocols.
• Working knowledge of virtualization, VMware or equivalent.
• Knowledge of security, storage, data protection and disaster recovery protocols.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• System administration and IT Certifications in Linux, Microsoft or other network related fields is preferred.
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
• Excellent communication skills.
