    Tax and Insurance Officer

    Responsibilities 

    • Prepare yearly tax plan and budget for the department in line with the strategic objectives of the department.
    • Ensure optimization of the company’s tax and net income position.
    • Ensure timely computation and filling of monthly tax returns to all tax authorities – VAT, WHT, PAYE.
    • Prepare documents to support negotiations with tax authorities.
    • Prepare documents to defend company position during tax audit to minimize/eliminate additional tax liability.
    • Prepare documents to be filed with tax authorities and obtain tax clearance certificates for the company and staff.
    • Provide advice to staff on tax matters.
    • Maintain up-to-date records of all company insurable assets working with other departments.
    • Negotiate Insurance contracts and maintain a close relationship with insurance brokers.
    • Timely filling of insurance claims and negotiation of favourable discharge value for all claims filed.
    • Guide employees on insurance matters.
    • Actively participate in fundraising activities.
    • Ensure accurate posting of assigned bank statement transactions
    • Regular update and reconciliation of general ledgers relating to taxation, insurance and other accounts allocated
    • Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time

    Requirements

    • Minimum Educational Requirement: HND/ B.Sc, Accounting Current Holder’s Qualification(s): OND, AAT, BSC
    • Minimum Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years cognate experience in a tax practicing firm.
