We are looking for a Technical Underwriter to provide support to our branch services. The successful candidate will be expected to handle the following job responsibilities:

• Review insurance applications and supporting documentation to assess the risk involved, nature risks, risk management measures required to ensure that the risk is insurable and acceptable to insurers.
• Evaluate the risk factors associated with the risk application to determine range of appropriate premium rates and excess/deductible.
• Establish the company underwriting guidelines, criteria, and data management platform to ensure prompt premium payment and placement of policy with suitable insurance company.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of the underwriting process, policy documents, risk assessments and any modifications/amendments organized and kept in soft copy on Ark online.
• Interact with RM team, insurers, and clients to gather additional information, clarify details, coverage options, policy terms or request further documentation.
• Follow up and ensure the implementation of insurers risks management commendations to minimize potential losses for both the insured and the insurance company.
• Ensure that all underwriting activities comply with relevant insurance laws, regulations, company, and Government policies. Technical team must request and confirm evidence of motor vehicle insurance certificates on Nigerian Insurance Industry Database; NIID.
• Collaborate with other departments within the company such as Claims, Relationship management, Finance/Accounts, Engineering, Health, Reinsurance and Legal to ensure effective coordination and efficient handling of insurance applications and policies.
• Completing vendor registration processes as well as other partner continuous due diligence processes.
• Participating in Data Protection Audit Processes and assisting in the preparing and updating of policies and processes as requested by the team.
