    Tendering Engineer

    Job Description

    • Manage tender opportunities from start to finish, handling tender portals, attending site meetings, supporting the team, and negotiating with providers.

    Preparing and submitting tenders:

    • Understand client specifications and translate them into effective technical proposals
    • Collaborate with our sales and engineering teams to create competitive and accurate tender proposals
    • Interpretsclient' technical specifications and commercial conditions.
    • Identify and pursue new tender opportunities, manage tender portals, attend on-site meetings, and support the tender team by keeping tasks on track.Preparation of price makeups / cost estimates.
    • Preparation of budgetary and formal bid submissions
    • Timely submission of final tender documents

    Cost estimation:

    • Analyze project requirements, evaluate costs, and provide detailed estimates
    • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects based on architectural drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
    • Analyze labour, material, and time requirements for projects.
    • Obtain and review subcontractor quotes for accuracy and completeness.
    • Develop project budgets and provide cost analysis to ensure competitive pricing.

    Client communication:

    • Negotiate with providers and subcontractors, clarifying tender details, answering questions, reporting on progress, and handing over successful tenders to the operational team.
    • Engage with clients during the tender process, addressing queries and ensuring clarity
    • Preparing detailed cost estimates, developing project budgets, managing timelines, coordinating with various stakeholders, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
    • Communicate project status, issues, and updates to clients and stakeholders regularly.
    • Facilitate effective communication among project team members.

    Project Management:

    • Plan, coordinate, and manage all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion.
    • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
    • Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions.
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met.
    • Risk assessment:Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies
    • Evaluating tender opportunities and risks, preparing technical and commercial tender returns, and ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
    • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with project execution.
    • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
    • Work with the legal and commercial teams on contract details.
    • Resolve project-related issues and disputes effectively.

    Financial Management:

    • Monitor project expenditures and manage project budgets.
    • Prepare and present financial reports, including cost forecasts and variance analysis.
    • Ensure timely billing and payment collection from clients and stakeholders.

    Quality Control:

    • Ensure construction work meets quality standards and client specifications.
    • Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor compliance and quality.
    • Address and rectify any quality issues promptly.

    Requirements

    • Preferably a Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, commercial Management, or a related field.
    • 5-7 years of experience in construction estimating and project management.
    • Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from start to finish.
    • Experience in tendering is required, with public procurement experience being a plus.
    • Experience with various types of construction projects, including, industrial, manufacturing, and commercial.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
    • Proficient in various estimating software’s and project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and AutoCAD is necessry
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret drawings, and specifications.
    • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • High level of integrity and professionalism.
    • Team player with strong leadership capabilities
