    Trade Marketing Manager

    CORE FUNCTIONS

    • Developing and implementing trade marketing strategies to drive sales
    • Executing effective trade promotional campaigns and reporting periodically on results and insights
    • Coordinating on-boarding and retention efforts (training, support, and incentives) for trade customers; wholesalers, retailers, and distributors
    • Analysing market trends and competitor activities to identify trade opportunities.
    • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and external partners
    • Monitoring and evaluating the success of trade marketing initiatives
    • Coordinating visual merchandising for POS and retail outlets
    • Coaching and supporting the sales teams to execute trade initiatives
    • Expanding sales opportunities across general and modern trade channels
    • Managing the trade marketing budget and allocating the Advertising & Promotion (A&P) budget across relevant channels and tactics
    • Increasing ROI, market share, and profitability for all products
    • Maintaining solid business relationships with key accounts

    QUALIFIERS

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business management, economics, marketing or related field
    • 3 - 5 Years of proven experience in trade marketing or a similar role.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and marketing software.
    • Strong knowledge of the retail industry in Nigeria (FMCG)
    • Experience managing trade marketing nationwide within the FMCG sector
    • Experience in collating and analyzing large amounts of data
    • Strong project management skills
    • Certifications in Marketing, Sales, Trade Promotion Management, and Retail Category Management

    Skills:

    • Strong analytical skills to analyze market trends and competitor activities.
    • Excellent communication skills to build relationships with partners and stakeholders.
    • Strategic thinking to develop effective marketing plans and campaigns.
    • Negotiation skills to secure profitable deals and partnerships
    • Attention to detail to ensure accurate implementation of marketing strategies.
    • Creativity and innovation

    • % Increase in brand awareness and recognition
    • MoM increase in the number of trade channels and partners
    • 3X ROI per trade marketing campaign
    • % increase in market share and trade customer retention rates
    • Quality of visual merchandising, POS/POP, and trade marketing materials
    • Speed and accuracy of decisions
    • Quality and sustainability of the relationship between the brand, trade partners, and channels
    • Better control of the sales team and trade support initiatives
    • Broader control over stock
