    Workshop Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Auto Workshop Manager is responsible and matured for managing all aspects of the automotive workshop, including supervising staff, ensuring high standards of service, maintaining equipment, and achieving business goals.
    • The manager will ensure that the workshop operates efficiently and profitably while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

    Key Responsibilities
    Workshop Operations Management:

    • Oversee daily operations of the workshop, ensuring all services and repairs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
    • Manage the workflow within the workshop, including scheduling jobs, allocating tasks to mechanics, and ensuring timely completion of work.

    Staff Supervision and Development:

    • Supervise and lead a team of mechanics, technicians, and support staff.
    • Provide training and development opportunities to improve team skills and performance.
    • Conduct performance reviews and manage any disciplinary issues.

    Customer Service:

    • Ensure that customers receive exceptional service, from the initial inquiry to the completion of repairs.
    • Handle customer complaints and concerns, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
    • Provide accurate estimates for repairs and maintenance, and keep customers informed of progress.

    Quality Control:

    • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
    • Perform quality checks on completed work to ensure customer satisfaction and safety.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.

    Inventory and Equipment Management:

    • Oversee the procurement and inventory management of parts, tools, and equipment.
    • Ensure that all workshop equipment is properly maintained and serviced regularly.
    • Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing for parts and materials.

    Financial Management:

    • Monitor workshop expenses and revenues to ensure profitability.
    • Prepare and manage budgets, including setting financial targets and analyzing financial performance.
    • Ensure accurate billing and invoicing for services rendered.

    Compliance and Safety:

    • Ensure that the workshop complies with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Implement safety procedures and ensure all staff are trained in safe work practices.
    • Maintain records of all safety inspections, incidents, and maintenance activities.

    Business Development:

    • Identify opportunities for business growth, such as new services or expanding the customer base.
    • Implement marketing and promotional activities to attract new customers.
    • Build and maintain relationships with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

    Reporting and Administration:

    • Prepare regular reports on workshop performance, including financial metrics, customer satisfaction, and staff performance.
    • Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll, and record-keeping.
    • Ensure all documentation, including work orders, invoices, and vehicle service records, is accurate and up to date.

    Qualifications
    Education:

    • A Diploma or Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an automotive repair or service environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.

    Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong customer service and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in using automotive workshop management software.
    • Financial management and budgeting skills.
    • Ability to solve problems and make decisions under pressure.

    Working Conditions:

    • Environment: Typically works in an automotive workshop or service center. The role may involve exposure to noise, fumes, and other workshop hazards.
    • Hours: Full-time position; may require flexibility in working hours, including evenings or weekends, depending on business needs.
