Established in 2018. WRCI started operations in 2019 and registered as a nonprofit making organization with the Corporate Affairs Commission in 2023.
In July 2009 the Boko haram insurgence began in the Northeast, and in 2011 the bandit Conflict in the Northwest escalated, the Federal Government announced interventions that affected the lives of the general population. To fight the insurgence/banditry to reduce its impact on the population, Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Nigeria came together to collaborate to fight the menace of the insurgence. In 2018, WRCI launched activities to provide succour to people affected by the conflict and violence.
