    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Eligibility Criteria

    • A minimum of 5 credits in one sitting. Mathematics and English Language are prerequisites.
    • Applicant must be a graduate of a reputable university with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Degree in any discipline. Graduates from international universities must submit undergraduate transcripts (in cases where the class of degree is not stated on the certificate).
    • Law graduates must have a minimum of a second-class lower degree from the Nigerian Law School.
    • Applicant must be less than 27 years of age at the time of application.
    • NYSC Status: Applicants should;
      • be currently enrolled in the NYSC program,
      • have completed NYSC, and
      • show relevant documentation, if he/she has been exempted from the NYSC scheme.

    Associate - Oil, Gas and Power

    Job Summary

    We are looking to hire an experienced Tax Associate within our Oil, Gas, and Power team. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to put relevant accounting and tax experience to use while working with senior members of the team in providing best-in-class services for clients – both international and local.

    Responsibilities

    • Managing client projects at given times.
    • Preparation of technical research and advisory opinions on various pivotal issues affecting the client's business within the tax space.
    • Play a big role in supervision, training, and mentoring lower-level employees within the team.
    • Communicate effectively with clients and develop positive relationships with client personnel and relevant regulatory agencies.
    • Communicate fully in a timely, informative, and accurate manner with superiors and others who need to know.
    • As the case may be, liaise cross-functionally with a bid to resolve various client-related tax issues.

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCY

    Requirements

    • A minimum of a Second Class (Upper) degree from an accredited university.
    • ICAN/ACCA certification
    • 4 years of tax experience in an accounting, tax, or legal firm
    • A sound knowledge of CIT, WHT, VAT, PPT / HT, PIT, and other tax-related computations
    • Competency in tax structuring and computations (including deferred tax), and tax due diligence
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
    • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
    • Excellent track record in project management
    • Ability to work independently, but also work well with others
    • Excellent negotiating skills
    • Ability to work successfully with multiple stakeholders across all levels in the Firm.

    Senior Associate - Tax Advisory and Regulatory Services

    Job Summary

    We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Associate within our Tax Advisory & Regulatory Services team. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to put his/her experience to use while working with other members of the team to provide tax, legal, regulatory, and start-up advisory services to various local and foreign clients.

    Responsibilities

    • Advise clients on a full spectrum of corporate and individual taxes and levies including compliance, planning, and research.
    • Advise clients on relevant regulatory requirements for their business.
    • Assist clients in ensuring compliance with the regulatory authorities.
    • Conduct data protection audits on clients and also prepare and file data protection reports with the regulatory authority.
    • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Manage teams of tax professionals and assistants working on client projects.
    • Advise clients and be responsible for delivering high-quality tax service and advice.
    • Participate in and contribute to market and business activities for the growth of the firm.

    SKILLS AND COMPETENCY

    • Tax structuring, strategy, and planning.
    • Merger, acquisition, and divestures.
    • Sound understanding of exchange control rules.
    • Data protection audit and implementation.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders, develop strong relationships with client personnel and relevant regulatory agencies
    • Strong leadership and project management skills

    Requirements

    • A minimum of 5 years as a Tax & Regulatory Consultant (preferably with a legal background)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages - Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
    • A sound knowledge of the legal provisions and application of CIT, PIT, CGT, WHT, VAT, and other taxes and levies.
    • A sound knowledge of the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation, 2019 (NDPR) and other relevant local and global data protection laws.
    • Maintain excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
    • Excellent track record in project management.
    • Ability to work independently, but also work well with others.
    • Excellent negotiating skills.
    • Ability to work successfully with multiple stakeholders across all levels in the Firm.
    • A minimum of a Second Class (Upper) degree from an accredited university.
    • Law graduates must have a minimum of a second-class lower degree from the Nigeria Law School.
    • A minimum of 5 O’ level credits including English Language and Mathematics at one sitting.
