    Deputy Head of Finance, Obajana

    Description

    We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as Deputy Head of Finance at the Dangote Cement Obajana, Kogi State.

    As the Deputy Head of Finance, you will play a critical role in overseeing the finance function to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations. In this position, you will report directly to the Head of Finance and collaborate closely with other departments within the organization.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist the Head of Finance in strategic financial planning and analysis to support business decision-making.
    • Drive the implementation of approved finance policies and procedures.
    • Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes and ensure compliance with guidelines.
    • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports for management.
    • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to improve financial performance.
    • Manage the fixed asset accounting process and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
    • Collaborate with other departments on financial assessment of projects and business plans.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations.
    • Optimize the utilization of financial resources and identify strategies for cost efficiency.
    • Identify and manage financial risks to prevent revenue leakage.
    • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including tax authorities and consultants.
    • Lead and mentor finance team members to achieve departmental goals.
    • Stay updated with industry trends, challenges, and opportunities related to finance and accounting.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
    • Professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, CPA, ACCA) is strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 15 years' experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
    • Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
    • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.
    • Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex financial data.
    • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.

    Accounts Officer, Financial Reporting

    Description

    We are looking for a passionate and professional Accounts Officer, Financial Reporting to join our Finance team and assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and full year Group Financial Statements.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Prepare the supporting schedules for the monthly, quarterly and yearly consolidated Financial Statements.
    • Prepare the accompanying notes for the periodic Financial Reports.
    • Preliminary review of the monthly Financial Statements prepared by the Nigeria and Pan Africa Subsidiaries
    • Assist in preparing daily sales report
    • Assist in Preparing daily production report
    • Assist in following up the External Auditors Management letter progress monthly
    • Assist the Financial Reporting Manager in maintaining the daily feeds into SAP

    Requirements

    Education and Work Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Accounting or related discipline.
    • Relevant professional accounting qualifications such as. ACA, ACCA etc.
    • Minimum of 2 – 5 years of relevant work experience in Internal Controls/Internal Audit/External Audit

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Good knowledge and understanding of finance best practices, IFRS and other applicable accounting standards.
    • Good knowledge in Consolidation
    • Working knowledge of accounting packages and systems, including SAP.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • High ethical standards and integrity.
    • Proficiency in the use of MS Office tools.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
