    Technical Services Manager

    To take the Strategic lead for the Engineering Domain in the Brewery and to lead related Strategic Initiatives in the Brewery, ensuring Corporate Governance for equipment and system integrity through the application of and adherence to relevant Standards and Legislation.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Engineering Management, Manage Plant Asset Care Budget / Finances
    • Lead the establishment of a capacitance engineering capability
    • Lead engineering projects by increasing efficient project planning and execution thereof *Ensure conformance to specifications and standards         
    • Manage the F&E function including Operations and Maintenance
    • Manage Site Engineering, encompassing Site Maintenance, Engineering Stores and Engineering procurement
    • Lead the risk management program, encompassing occupational health and safety and risk management
    • Ensure legal compliance in engineering and adherence to legal standards/regulations
    • People Management Facilitate team problem solving and decision making
    • Lead the engineering team in a manner that engenders ownership, empowerment and team interaction
    • Lead the development of engineering team goals and ensure these are communicated and understood by team members             
    • Conduct regular engineering team goal review sessions
    • Ensure training need analyses are conducted and training plans developed for team members
    • Ensure appropriate competencies are developed in the team, and ensure cross skilling occurs within the engineering team

    • Optimize use of planned maintenance system
    • Apply formal failure analysis process
    • Apply relevant engineering spares strategy 
    • Implement VPO and Associated GOP's
    • Manage progress according to glide paths set and agreed

    Manage small site projects

    • Project completion on time and in budget

    Manage financial performance

    • Manage ZBB Maintenance and CAPEX budgeting process
    • Control departmental costs
    • Review financial results.

    Requirements:

    • Min B.Sc/HND – Engineer Electrical/Mechanical. (M.Sc added advantage)
    • 2-3 Years as a Packaging or Brewing & Utilities Engineer

    Process Operator - Packaging

    To Safely operate and maintain defined Packaging equipment and process areas which have a bigger business impact wrt cost and consumer quality and related process in order to achieve optimal effectiveness. 

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    OPERATING AND PROCESS CONTROL

    • Operating equipment in Packaging  process areas according to VPO standards 
    • Constantly reviewing process performance against target, and recording short stops and correcting any out of controls using the VPO tools
    • Recording waste and movement of product on the appropriate documentation or information systems. Review trends to identify & resolve problems

    MAINTENANCE OF PLANT AND EQUIPMENT

    • Carrying out autonomous operations as defined for the process areas. 
    • Identify defective plant, and report these through to the Process Artisan or Team Leader to assist with resolution.
    • Assisting the Process Artisan/Machine specialist in executing running repairs on shift.

    QUALITY CONTROL AND ANALYSIS

    • Carrying out the required quality checks and analyses, and recording the results on the appropriate information system.
    • The list of quality checks to be executed is contained in the work instructions.
    • react to the results using the VPO tools supplied

    COMMUNICATION

    • Actively participate in shift meetings, asking questions to test understanding and contributing suggestions. Making use of the action logs to record issues, problems and improvement opportunities.
    • Fully understand the team Dream and contribute in achieving it. 
    • Make use of relevant communication media (e.g. shift logbook) to stay informed and inform others of issues.
    • Complete required hand over to incoming shift team members, ensuring the issues relating to plant performance, quality and maintenance are communicated.

    PROBLEM SOLVING

    • Where problems occur, use the VPO problem solving tools to resolve and record the issues.

    Expected Standards:

    • Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment 
    • Interpret and implement production plan for shift
    • Operate manual and automatic machines on line as per standards
    • Monitor production processes on shift and correct any negative trends
    • Ensure process quality and productivity

    Requirements:

    • Relevant Technical Qualification / Diploma
    • 9 months on the job training, SKAP completed
    • Experience within a Brewing FMCG industry

    The key purpose of this role is to maintain equipment, assuring reliable performance to standard through inspections and providing corrective actions to restore equipment back to inherent condition

    • Minimum of 1 years as Process or Maintenance Artisan on high-speed packing lines
    • Min. of B.Sc./HND/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
    • 2-3 Years’ experience in Brewing/FMCG environment
    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office applications i.e. (Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
