    Head, HEMM Maintenance

    Description

    Dangote Group, a leading manufacturing conglomerate in Nigeria, is seeking a Head of HEMM Maintenance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the construction industry and a proven track record of managing heavy earth moving machines.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance program for heavy earth moving machines (HEMM) in collaboration with the production team.
    • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the HEMM maintenance team, including scheduling and training.
    • Develop and maintain maintenance schedules, spare parts inventory management, and repair records.
    • Monitor equipment performance and take corrective actions to improve the efficiency and reliability of the equipment.
    • Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to ensure timely and high-quality maintenance and repair services as required.
    • Develop strategies for minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment availability.
    • Continuously review and improve HEMM maintenance practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

    Requirements

    • A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
    • A minimum of 25 years' experience in equipment maintenance management within the construction industry.
    • Strong knowledge of HEMM as well as preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
    • Experience managing maintenance teams in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

    Description

    Dangote Cement Plc seeks a Head of Mines to manage its mining operations. This role is essential in providing the critical materials for many of Dangote's industries, including cement manufacturing, sugar milling, and salt refining. The Head of Mines will oversee all aspects of mining operations, including safety, exploration, production, and logistics, to ensure that targets are met efficiently and cost-effectively. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing a large team of mining professionals and fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement short and long-term mining strategies aligned with the overall business objectives
    • Oversee the exploration, development, and production of mining operations across the company's various sites and ensure that targets are met safely, efficiently, and within budget
    • Establish and manage productive relationships with stakeholders, including regulators, contractors, and local communities to ensure the smooth operation of mining activities
    • Develop and implement stringent safety and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure the safety of all employees and compliance with regulatory requirements
    • Implement robust systems and procedures for inventory management, supply chain management, and logistics to ensure timely and efficient delivery of mined materials
    • Manage a large and diverse team of mining professionals and provide mentoring, coaching, and training to ensure their continued growth and development
    • Provide regular reports to senior management on mining operations performance, issues, and opportunities.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Mining or Geology Engineering or a related field
    • Minimum of 25 years' experience in the mining industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role
    • Extensive knowledge of mining operations, including exploration, production, and logistics
    • Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate diverse teams
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute complex mining strategies and plans
    • Knowledge of mining regulations and best practices
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
