    Head of Laboratory

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring smooth workflow, efficiency, and the timely delivery of test results.
    • Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor laboratory performance through internal and external quality control measures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
    • Ensure that all laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning at optimal performance.
    • Oversee the validation, interpretation, and release of laboratory test results to ensure accuracy and precision.
    • Identify staff development needs and organize training programs to enhance the skill sets and competencies of laboratory personnel.
    • Lead efforts in the introduction of new diagnostic tests and laboratory services, staying abreast of advancements in diagnostic technology.
    • Prepare and manage the laboratory’s budget, including the cost of supplies, staffing, equipment, and maintenance.
    • Handle any discrepancies, incidents, or accidents related to laboratory operations, conducting thorough investigations and reporting findings to upper management.
    • Lead efforts to achieve and maintain laboratory accreditation and certifications.
    • Provide reports and updates to management on laboratory performance, challenges, and future initiatives.
    • Work with the clinic’s executive team to develop strategic goals for the laboratory, including expanding services, adopting new technologies, or improving efficiency.

    Driver

    Responsibilities

    • Transport staff, patients (if necessary), and visitors to and from the clinic.
    • Assist in the loading and unloading of medical equipment, supplies, and lab samples, ensuring that items are handled with care to avoid damage or contamination.
    • Regularly inspect the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, including checking oil levels, tyre pressure, brakes, and fuel levels.
    • Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, including mileage, fuel consumption, trip details, and any vehicle incidents.
    • Work closely with administrative staff to manage delivery schedules, transport requests, and other logistics.
    • Represent the clinic professionally when interacting with clients, patients, and external partners during transport activities.
    • Be available for urgent transport requests in emergencies, such as transferring medical supplies or transporting medical personnel to remote locations.
    • Ensure cost-effective use of the vehicle by avoiding unnecessary trips or excessive idling.

    Dispatch Rider

    Responsibilities

    • Safely and promptly transport medical samples (such as blood, urine, or other diagnostic samples) from clinics or collection points to laboratories for analysis.
    • Deliver medications, medical supplies, and small diagnostic equipment to and from the clinic.
    • Maintain accurate delivery logs, including time, date, recipient, and nature of the package.
    • Regularly inspect the bike to ensure it is in good working condition, including checking fuel, brakes, tyres, and lights.
    • Manage time effectively to handle multiple deliveries and pickups within a given timeframe.
    • Follow clinic-specific protocols related to the safe handling of medical items and infection control standards.
    • Maintain open communication with supervisors, and other team members, updating them on delivery status or delays.
    • Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with patients, staff, and external contacts, maintaining the reputation of the clinic.
    • Assist other departments within the clinic by running errands such as bank runs, purchasing office supplies, or other duties as assigned.
