    Cash Officer

    Job Summary

    • The Cash Officers are based in Yobe state and directly reports to the Food Security and Livelihood Deputy Project Manager.
    • The position involves participating in the implementation of Cash Based Transfer (CBT) activities within the assigned LGA under the DFID funded Integrated Basic Nutrition Response project.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Undertake CBT interventions at assigned local government area.
    • Collect information and data on Social Protection at LGA level through surveys, assessments, regular post distribution monitoring, price monitoring and field supervision visits of beneficiary households.
    • Mobilization and awareness raising on the mission's program objectives and activities to local authorities and the population, and act as a link between the Organization and the beneficiaries (at LGA level).
    • Participate in regular internal and external coordination for the program at LGA and state levels when required.
    • Provide bi-weekly reports.

    Requirements
    The successful candidate will;

    • A bachelor's degree or HND in FSL related studies with previous experience with food security and livelihoods programming.
    • Microsoft Office Skills (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word).
    • Be committed to Action Against Hunger mission, values and policy.
    • Previous experience managing FSL interventions (i.e. cash based transfer, IGA, agriculture/livelihoods).
    • Experience in implementing programming on behalf of donor funded activities.
    • Fluency in Hausa and other local languages (Fulani and Kanuri).

    Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

    Location: Monguno, Borno

    Job Summary

    • The position is based in Monguno, Borno State and reports to the Monitoring and Evaluation Deputy Manager.
    • The M&E Officer is responsible for data gathering, collation and reporting activities to ensure the quality and accountability of the programs implemented by Action Against Hunger in Northern Nigeria.

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Support the operationalization of M&E systems on Action Against Hunger projects to ensure compliance with donor M&E standards.
    • Ensure proper and timely implementation of the mission's M&E tools, activities, and reporting.
    • Document and promote good practice from planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of activities.
    • Represent the organisation externally in relevant forums and working groups at State level.
    • Ensure timely and quality data collection, inclusive of needs assessments, household registration, baseline/endline surveys, PDMs, KAP surveys, and others. 
    • Ensure implementation of M&E plan through routine monitoring of activities at the field level.
    • Support program team to ensure quantitative APRs are updated based on activities accomplished for the month.
    • develop and implement clear and practical M&E plans for the program by ensuring that program indicators, monitoring formats, databases, data analysis, and reporting are maintained and harmonized.

    Position Requirements

    • Minimum of a degree with previous experience working in humanitarian projects.
    • At least 2 years of proven experience in the Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability of humanitarian or development programs.
    • Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, Sphere standard, SPSS, SPHINX, or other statistical packages.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of M&E concepts and international humanitarian quality standards.
    • Experience with mobile data collection.  
    • Fluency in English and Hausa (both written and spoken skills).

    Information and Communications Technology Assistant

    Job Summary

    • The position is based in Maiduguri, Borno State and reports to the Information and Communications Technology Officer.
    • The Information and Communications Technology Assistant provides support to the implementation of Action Against Hunger programs by ensuring that Action Against Hunger Nigeria mission has well maintained, up-to-standard IT, HF/VHF radio, satellite, internet, mobile phone and GPS equipment.
    • The ICT Assistant will also support in the maintenance and troubleshooting of the ICT hardware, software, networks and peripheries.

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Support the ICT Officer to ensure that Servers and other network resources are installed and configured for the respective users.
    • Participate in the delivery of energy backup system (inverter, UPS) for the ICT equipment for his/her base.
    • Serve as  the Local Area Network administrator for the base and monitor users’ access to the Network and all its resources.
    • Ensure smooth operation of all HF/VHF radios for the base.
    • Provide technical advice on CCTV operations to the base security manager when required.
    • Supports the M&E team to ensure effective use/function of the ODK phones and other devices.
    • Troubleshoot all ICT related problems with the ODK phones, cash transfer devices and traders’ devices are attended to within the shortest possible time.
    • Ensure the stability of internet service for the base and the sub-base and when necessary.
    • Monitor the performance of all internet service and effective use of the internet bandwidth.
    • Ensure compliance with Action Against Hunger with IT policy.

    Position Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree/Higher National Diploma in Information Technology/ Engineering; Telecommunications, Computer Science.
    • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar position.
    • Professional certification such as MCP, MCSA, MCSE, CCNA is preferable.
    • Previous experience working for NGOs is an asset, particularly international and/or health related NGOs.
    • Fluency in one or more National/regional languages an asset.
    • Possess excellent attention to details.
    • Excellent communication ability including outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
